Trump’s most popular campaign promises *during the GOP primary* were 1) Medicare negotiating drug prices 2) Infrastructure 3) Having the wealthy pay their fair share in taxes. Trump accomplished none of them. If the Inflation Reduction Act passes, Biden will have passed all 3.

Americans’ real disposable income—which incorporates inflation—is up. Doesn’t make paying more at the pump or a small amount at the grocery less frustrating. But this kind of reporting is just misleading clickbait. A $10-$12 bottle of wine can still be found for $10-12 anywhere.

There are real reasons why coming out of pandemic inflation, Americans aren’t still all sunshine and roses on the economy. But the fact that this is the CNN homepage right now, and this is just typical coverage of the Biden economy, is a major part of it.

House Republicans went on a ticker tape parade when unemployment got this low after Trump. And he inherited the longest private sector job streak in history, not a pandemic economic meltdown with job growth at virtually nothing.

A big miss in inflation reporting under Biden is that this has been some unique US problem, when it has actually been a global problem due to a global pandemic & global supply chain challenges all along. We’re fighting it here with every tool we have.

The fact that Americans continue to buy at record rates, coming back from an economic catastrophe, is a pretty important data point for the narrative that rising prices are making it impossible for Americans to buy anything.

After 8 years of inspiring and grueling work under Obama and then-VP Biden, we watched a man who had called Obama illegitimate based on racist conspiracy theories win the election. Obama gathered us in the Oval and told us that democracy can be heartbreaking, but we stand by it.

To be clear why Scott wants to sunset Medicare: Congress can pass changes to Medicare any time they want, has happened many times. But GOP benefit cuts and privatization get defeated b/c nobody wants them. This would say: accept GOP cuts or Medicare dies altogether by default.

.⁦ @WHCOS ⁩ on GDP: “We are making progress on the economy. It's not just the GDP numbers you mentioned. The economy did grow. Inside that is a measure of price. It came down dramatically. We're seeing some easing on inflation… So incomes up, prices down, economic growth.”

This is the fastest economic recovery in history. If you think this was some inevitability then maybe answer why Trump averaged about 60K jobs his last three months, and Biden has averaged closer to 600K.

Americans are wondering why a President is trying to take credit for "job growth" that's really just people returning to work after COVID - especially when people in those jobs have less money to take home thanks to Bidenflation. But keep trying to work the refs.

A relatively fair evaluation of the American economy under Biden. There have been a lot of challenges through the global pandemic, but the actions of Biden and Dems in Congress are keeping Americans above water. Not true in other developed countries.

It’s just a fact that the cost of Biden’s Build Back Better proposal was $0, and that is the consensus goal of Democrats in Congress. It’s a major difference from the Trump tax cuts that Hume and others supported where the cost was $2 trillion.
