@DThompsonDev There's a difference though between being comfortable with both and calling yourself a real fullstack developer. Often fullstack developers are more backend oriented and can't make killer UI. I strongly believe the best UI gets made by specialists most of the time.

I'm SO happy with my switch to @astrodotbuild for the course platform, instead of sticking with Next's app dir, or switching to Remix 🤯 Astro is so much more than "that static site framework™". I'm building a complete platform in it, with DB calls, paywall etc. It's a breeze!

@EisenbergEffect I feel you. Those arbitrary values are ugly, perhaps even make you a bit less productive and make your code messier. But that's such a minor annoyance compared to all the great benefits it brings you. I've resisted a long time against Tailwind, but wouldn't wanna go back now.

I was just looking at your @_buildui website @samselikoff and noticed a few unnecessary scrollbars that you're probably not aware of. An awesome trick I always tell Mac devs is to always enable scrollbars in your a11y settings, so you spot these things 🙏 Hope you appreciate!

@adamdotdev Define creating value though. Without UI’s nothing would earn money. No Google interface to search for stuff, no way to stream the Netflix videos, way less possibilities to track user behavior. I think you can’t really compare them. The fields are too different, and complemental.

@jeresig @mxstbr I disagree. There’s just too many people who don’t know the simple basics of CSS 😔 CSS is sadly a really undervalued part of frontend I’d say. Same goes for HTML. I interviewed too many young devs who said they knew all about HTML and CSS.. They shouldn’t have said that 😉

@zomars @trpcio My approach is to repeat the query if you need to pass data down more than one level from where it was first queried. The react query cache should be configured in such a way that repeat queries aren’t ran but return directly from cache. So little overhead but way better DX.

I can't be the only one who didn't know you could resize a window from all sides at the same time on MacOS by using the option key, right?! Or perhaps I'm the only one with the weird need to scale windows from their center position.. (Yes, I use Raycast for positioning too).

About to merge a very important PR for the course platform. Autosaving of the changes you make in the playgrounds 🥳 (Not used in the articles, only in the course for now). Decided to use @supabase storage for this – let's see whether that's a smart choice cost wise 😅

You know what's also hard about being a creator in the EU? It feels like most creators are from the US area. So if I would tweet at times that would be most suitable to me (aka now), many of them are asleep. So sometimes I wonder if that impacts my reach/potential or not.

Early returns all day every day. Makes your code a lot cleaner imo. Less indenting, no potential 'else' cases that will run for !enabled after your if statement.
