Well, someone didn’t actually listen, did they? When a woman says she and her child needs a female only environment to recover she is not saying that trans people have no rights or should have no help. She is talking about womens rights and needs. It’s not all about you!

Women never reach an age where we are “safe” from men with bad intent. A lot of people refuse to understand this. In a clinical setting we can ask for a chaperone, what can an old or disabled woman do when a male nurse is sent to her home? Safeguarding is a thing of the past.

How do you know? How can you tell the intentions of either of these people? We’re told no one has to make any changes to be accepted as a woman if they say they are, that “Non Binary” people have the right to choose whichever facility they like. So how can we tell, Fiona?

In Scotland, rapists under the age of 25 receive no jail sentence because apparently they’re too young to know it’s wrong. Also in Scotland, children under 18 are seen as mature enough to make permanent, irreversible changes to their bodies, through hormones and surgery.

This is what happens when women in refuge attempts to talk about our needs. I wrote this after nearly 2 years in refuge. Any attempt to engage with TRAs were met with sneers and abuse. That is why I am grateful to see @jk_rowling speak out. I want EVERYONE in need of help

I often talk about my experiences of Domestic Abuse/Violence, of being in refuge with my child, my sense of safety and security when I try to engage with TRAs. I don’t do it to gain sympathy or to play victim olympics, but it goes directly to why I am so concerned not

No one had given consent, no one had been aware that there was a male worker there before they arrived, these women had again been given no voice or choice. So when I see posts like this, I know that the women in that refuge have not been given a choice. They have not been given
