: "I am two weeks out from my due date. And once this baby comes, because of the generosity of Comcast, I get 4 months of paid leave to be with my baby. I am one of the very lucky ones in this country."

I wish we provided protected paid time off up to the MONTH before giving birth, as that is a very difficult time, but also those 3-6-9 months afterward for both parents. Most people face the same obstacles, we should have universal support.

Congratulations, Katy! I remember babysitting you 30 years ago. And now you're a mom, twice! Sunrise, sunset. Color me crying (tears of joy).

In some European countries even fathers get months off to bond with the newborn (and learn about changing diapers😃). Why is the US so behind ?

I’m really glad for her but here in Australia you are eligible for 12 months maternity leave if you’ve been with the company for 12 months. I’m horrified to hear some people only get 2 weeks leave.

You would get a year in Canada or split the year with your partner. My daughter did 8 months last year then her partner took 4 months and had summer off work with the kids🥰🥰

That is wonderful! Most of our country gets no time😞I know you are a supporter of paid leave but so many in our country struggle without this benefit! Hoping Biden will get this passed but not hopeful 💥. The Republicans are only concerned about wealthy tax cuts .
