: "I am two weeks out from my due date. And once this baby comes, because of the generosity of Comcast, I get 4 months of paid leave to be with my baby. I am one of the very lucky ones in this country."

This is deceiving,
@KatyTurNBC
is contracted on air talent. Her employment benefits are dictated by contract between her & Comcast, as negotiated with her entertainment agency + legal representation.
This is not uniform policy for Comcast employee that installs my cable.

Does the Biden plan also apply to hourly workers? What about people who don’t qualify for benefits at their job now, like people with multiple part time jobs?

We will miss you, Katy! But for the BEST Reason - a new baby! You already have a beautiful family. Truly blessed. ☮🌞⚘
You are glowing, every day.

Paid leave could be a national insurance program, or included in single payer universal health coverage. In a rational country, that is.

's report on paid leave for caregivers reveals such an egregious gap between the U.S. and other countries on a crucial issue affecting everyone at some point. Japan and Norway give a full year of paid leave for new parents! We gotta ask: What kind of country do we want?

You are sooo lucky. I had 8 weeks with both of my kids and that was only because I saved vacation days for 2 years each time. On the other hand, part of me was kind of glad to go back to work- except for the sleep deprivation.

Way lucky. Not putting this on you but in this country the more one makes or the more visible they are as a result of their profession or fame, the more we give them. We have so many things ass-backwards.

This must be the first time anyone has ever used the phrase “b/c of the generosity of Comcast” ever, like in human history ever!
