@pot8um 100%. Also, when my toddler was going through a hitting phase I was able to consistently reinforce using her words instead. Being able to say “what does mommy do” made that resonate. Hitting kids when angry and telling them not to hit when angry creates a serious dissonance.

so it took me too many decades to realize this, but if ur someone who’s tired all day until nighttime, then instead of doing the logical thing of sleeping (bc u were exhausted all day) u get a “second wind”—it might not be rooted in fatigue, it might be rooted in overstimulation.

physical + mental fatigue is a common outcome of overstimulation and a subsequently overtaxed nervous system. it’s not just some second wind or not wanting to sleep, it’s that when the world is silent and everything has calmed, ur body doesn’t have to work as hard. which is nice.

@ErinLouise @NYTvows idk, I’ve had a wedding and 2x baby showers and I still think it’s all bullshit. we should do a registry and party when we move into an apartment, or hit like 35. literally everyone… “sweet 35” parties all around.

@mattxiv the whole thing is so disturbing. every inch of that was intentional. as an art therapist, even seeing the drawings on the walls… so effed up. the comments sections are horrendous rn, I can’t help but wonder if it was purposeful in fueling conspiracies and hateful narratives.

Last night I wrote and read a poem for my daughter’s bday, after which she jumped on me and said “mommy I’m serious—I accept this for publication” so I’m now totally good for all of 2022.

If it’s not rights, then it’s ownership and control. I feel like we all need to take a serious look at archaic purity values and question WHY you need to be their first <Looking sternly at you, presses open only to writers who have not yet published a collection> tbh it’s gross.
