@hankgreen
I thought it was real because it didn’t stand out enough for me to really properly look at it. I just thought “wow nice coat popey” and moved on
A critique of every episode of ancient apocalypse.
I'm probably never doing another 'dubunking' style video again.
Not until one artefact from Atlantis gets found. Until I see one artefact, I've got nothing else to say on the matter lol
Humans are the only creature on earth that would do this. We’re the only creature that would torture or derive pleasure from torture. We’re deeply flawed
This year I must be better at self promotion. My channel has almost 2,000,000 views. For videos about real archaeology, no atlantis, no pseudo nonsense, I think that's pretty impressive and i'm very proud of myself.
Can’t believe
@NatGeo
fired all their writers. Feels like everything nowadays is run by culture-less pen pushing pricks who value nothing except $$$ and will sell their granny for a 0.0001% increase in stock value.
New video! We're looking at the oldest archaeological site in the world, Lomekwi 3, and what we can learn about our evolution from this 3.3 million year old site.
Tucker: M&M’s will not be satisfied until every last cartoon character is deeply unappealing and totally androgynous. Until the moment you wouldn’t want to have a drink with any one of them. That’s the goal. When you’re totally turned off, we’ve achieved equity…
New video “Life and Death 3,000,000 years ago”. Reconstructing a hypothetical life of Lucy and other similar Australopithecus afarensis. In my opinion my best yet.
@Trey_Explainer
Film in a busy place where there’s lots of people and you’re just one in a crowd to maintain mystery. Probs wouldn’t wear the chain mail crop top for that though
new video tomorrow. Avalable on

I'm going to be making the argument that we may have found 12 Denisovan fossils 100 years ago on Java.
I'm slightly biased but I do think it's a certified banger.
I think the hardest thing with creating any form of videos or podcasts is the pressure to constantly put out stuff. I made what is, in my opinion, my best ever video. Yet come Monday, it's straight onto the next one.
New video (it’s a banger) I make the case that the strongest evidence we have at the minute for the first people to enter America , ancestors of native Americans, can be found in Idaho
New Video!! Did Polynesians reach America? We're looking at it from the perspective of DNA. Huge thanks to
@morestrada
and
@alexGioannidis
for sharing their expertise!
I got so many comments on my last Neanderthal video about why I didn’t portray Shanidar Neanderthals as fair skinned with red hair. This does a much better job at explaining why than I ever could.
“What color were Neandertals?”
For a hundred years, artists and scientists have depicted them basically like Europeans. Now genomes are providing new evidence about their pigmentation, but most is still unknown. A look at the developing science.
I’m just putting this out into the universe, in the hopes it can come true.
It would be great if my YouTube channel could crowd fund archaeology excavations/conservation/research. That’s deffo a goal of mine over the next few years.
It takes a lot of courage to go and debate in front of such a large audience. Especially when the person you're debating has a very enthusiastic set of followers. So big shout out to
@FlintDibble
You're the man!
rode my bike to the shops yesterday for the first time in aaages entirely because of
@notjustbikes
. I had gotten too lazy and accustomed to taking the car everywhere. Shout out to not just bikes, great channel man.
Hi
@TeamYouTube
can you take a look again at my video being demonetised? It’s educational content about human evolution produced with expert help from geneticist
@TeixeiraJoaoC
there’s nothing shocking about it at all really.
One thing that I didn’t think of when talking about Ancient Apocalypse is, what was their motivation for spreading architecture and farming around the world?
Banger alert! Another video on human evolution from yours truly, with lots of help from
@TeixeiraJoaoC
. We make the case that we have possibly found 12 denisovan fossils on Java, and we’ve known about them for almost 100 years. Links 👇👇👇
Ten months ago, we launched the Vesuvius Challenge to solve the ancient problem of the Herculaneum Papyri, a library of scrolls that were flash-fried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.
Today we are overjoyed to announce that our crazy project has succeeded. After 2000
IMO, Youtube is the front line when it comes to communicating with the public. Archaeologists, archaeology departments, journals, all of the above should share their research in an easily accessible format. It's not very hard and people love it!
A solemn day for
#Syria
.
The remains of heroic Syrian archaeologist Khaled Al-Asaad have been found near Palmyra today.
Al-Asaad was beheaded at 83 by ISIS in 2015 for refusing to lead them to the locations of Palmyra’s hidden antiquities.
He can now finally rest in peace.
I have to say that criticisms of my latest video have been so politely expressed and obviously come from people who truly love the subject. Shout out to those of you who love Mesoamerica, what a nice bunch you all are.

My hot take: David is of course right that getting such simple things wrong is frustrating, but can archaeology keep the word “mysterious”? Why should ancient aliens et al. get to steal it. I know it’s often used lazily but there are many things we don’t know about the past.
It is a sad, sad, day when I have to tell people that they can't trust
@NatGeo
to get basic facts about archaeology right...
FWIW, Teotihuacan was absolutely not a Maya city, and it is in no way, shape, or form "mysterious."
@EmpTigerstar
On my last video I lost 300 subs almost immediately because I suggested someone in the ice age might have had a slightly darker skin tone
This is what I hate about Britain. An unelected head of state, a government lead by an unelected prime minister radically, with no mandate running peoples lives, destroying our country for their private profit. I despise the whole thing.
French cannons, buried by the Spanish at Fort Saint Louis in 1689 and uncovered on a private ranch by archeologists from the Texas Historical Commission, confirming the site’s location. Found exactly where Alonso De León left them 300+ years ago. More:
For those of you who didn't know, the history YouTuber Nick Barksdale has passed. He ran the channel Study of Antiquity and the Middle Ages, and he will be greatly missed. You can still support his family here:
Someone needs to make a documentary on the weird crossover between new Age spiritualism and fascism. Seems like strange bed fellows, yet they are boinking away.
A young boy by the name of Bertie read my book and went to the trouble of sending me some questions, so naturally I had to answer them, (they're honestly great questions). Video below
Happy New Year! Hope you have a great 2021. Thank you so much for all the support this year! I love the EU, Fuck Brexit 🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺🇪🇺
My next video is on the evolution of homo sapiens. Turns out that was well complicated. This video is going to be a beast. I'm half tempted to split it up.
