Uniform standards really frustrate me in the emergency services in 2024. It’s not hard to have a clean/ tidy beard or be clean shaven, get your haircut every now and then, put your hair up if it’s long, polish your boots and iron your uniform. Have some self pride people!

Shout out to the only member of the public that tried to trip up my suspect during a foot chase this week. I kept pace and caught them, one arrested tor assaulting me 💁‍♀️ The suspect was over ten years younger, fitter and slimmer than me, still got them 🤣

I would really like to see more dedicated Special Constables being offered; Driving courses, Taser, IPP, MOE, L2, Dogs, Mounted etc. We must invest in the Special Constabulary, to keep people feeling valued. Without Special Constables policing wouldn’t function. 👮 👮🏻‍♂️ #Police

It is so nice to celebrate positivity in policing. Some fantastic stories tonight of great police work in communities. My fiancée and two of his colleagues received a commendation for saving the life of a man who had been stabbed and was catastrophically bleeding. So proud ❤️

Well impressed with the newest officer at our station on his 5th week. Gives chase to a suspicious subject, good commentary & detained one for a section 1 PACE search, where he recovered a pretty big old Rambo knife! Stop and search save lives people. Facts! 🔪👮🏻‍♀️

My partner used to infrequently take our dog into the Police station. His team absolutely loved it! She improved morale & brought a smile to many a burnt out face. Cop from a different team has complained & now the Chief Inspector has banned dogs from the building. Boo! 💔 #Morale

My thanks to the amazing @EastEnglandAmb crew, staff at @WatfordED & my mum for their care & kindness after I became unwell this week. It was the time I’ve ever been in the back of an Ambulance as an adult patient. Still recovering at home but feeling very thankful for our #NHS ❤️

Why aren’t ambulance trusts pressuring hospitals to provide vehicle charging points in ambulance bays. Ambulances spend most of their time waiting outside A&E departments, therefore, they should provide charging points or fleet will continue to be OOS due to battery issues.

1 thing I noticed having worked in the Police & Ambulance service. The biggest egos I’ve ever experienced were in the 🚑 service / 🏥 environment. There is so much self entitlement & focus on clinical grade rather than length of service / experience. Very interesting to watch 🤣

IMO police & ambulance service do not have the infrastructure in place for all electric fleets. Demand is too high on the police and ambulance service for electric vehicles to be beneficial. I expect to see a rise in fleet out of service time and increased costs for repairs etc

As soon as I identify a patient is fast positive I’m gone, everything can and must be done on the way to hospital unless correcting ABC’S etc. My record was 9 minutes on scene. It is something I’m very passionate about, reducing on scene times where safe for time critical pts

If I ever become a chief constable the only piece of paper work my cops would be doing is an MG11 and MG0. Police forces need to bring back case file teams. The national case file quality is poor because cops are literally expected to do everything except their actual jobs 🙄💁‍♀️

Assaulted this week at work (TWICE in two days! Having never been assaulted before in the job). Well looked after by local management as always and even had a lovely email from a senior boss. It’s a nice touch and the reason why I really enjoy working for the organisation I do.

My #Gooddeed in #Cornwall was capturing a Border Collie puppy who had been loose on the beach in the dark for over 1 hour in #Falmouth . Her owners in their 80’s came into the pub minus a dog, my 👮🏻‍♂️ nose kicked in and now we have one puppy safely back in custody & happy owners 💙

Might be an unpopular opinion but… if you’re a police officer/ paramedic / other ambulance staff who specialises or a manager who isn’t regularly responding to core business (999 calls etc), then you should have to complete a frontline shift at least once a month IMO 🚑 👮

When people call 999 or ask for the police, they quite rightly expect a timely response. The best part of my job is when you provide just that and arrest a perpetrator in front of a victim. Absolutely brilliant team effort tonight saw exactly this. Victim care is everything! 👮🏻‍♂️💙

The “old man” had a mini stroke this weekend. He’s now obcessed with monitoring his blood pressure. He made me LOL when he said “I CANT TALK IM DOING MY BLOOD PRESSURE” 🤣 He is in good spirits thankfully, but I can’t help but worry about how high risk he is of an actual CVA now.
