This evening, we played our part in commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Belfast Blitz by sounding our siren. On this day in 1941, Belfast was hit by one of its deadliest bombing of WW2, known as ‘The Fire Raid’.
We are saddened to learn of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. Our thoughts also turn to Her Majesty The Queen and their family at this deeply sad time. HRH is pictured at Harland & Wolff (Belfast) in 1977 during the Silver Jubilee tour.
Harland & Wolff has been issued a letter of intent for the contract for mid-life upgrade and drydocking of a large vessel. The contract is worth around £60m - £70m.
Preparations have commenced at Belfast within the Building Dock in preparation for the arrival of Dorset Spirit next week. Measuring 280m, we have had to remove the intermediate dock gates to make use of the full drydock.
