Juneteenth is about enslaved Black People in America learning about their freedom. It’s not about People of Color. It’s not about any other issue you want to hitch to that. That’s all.
#AmyCooper
said, “Her entire life is being destroyed right now.” But she had NO PROBLEM trying to destroy a Black man’s life with her lies. She knew exactly what she was doing and now she is on her “I’m the real victim” tour.
For all the allies supporting Simone Biles for speaking up for herself, please remember that at work when a Black woman speaks up in staff meeting. Support her IN the meeting - not in the hallway AFTER the meeting, when you whisper, “I wish I was as strong as you.”
@crookedroads770
I remember I was on the phone and happened to look up and my daughter has one leg over the three story balcony. I dropped the phone and ran and pulled her back. She was going to fly and feed squirrels. 😐😐😐 She made it to 25. Some days I wonder how.
I was at a plantation and we had this discussion and I asked a woman there,who had attended a wedding at this very plantation, would she attend a wedding at Auschwitz? I kid you not she looked me dead in my face and said, “I don’t know.” Really? I had to leave after that.
This is always so annoying to me. It is historical. Black people we don’t want you here. Black people build their own towns. What happens? White people destroy them. Black people we don’t want certain books in our schools. Ok. Black people open bookstore. What happens? Threats.
Less than a year after opening, Liberation Station Bookstore — NC's 1st Black-owned children's bookstore — is having to MOVE OUT of downtown Raleigh after the owner says they've received "numerous threats."
There is clearly something that White people don’t understand - Black people are often in situations where we have to be gracious because to not be, no matter if an offense is committed against us, will reflect badly on us.
@Partisangirl
Say Her Name is a movement to remember the names of Black women that have been killed by the police not a White woman breaking into the Capitol. Nope. Wrong. Stop co-opting OUR movement.
@LittleCharlesTV
I can’t recall who made a post but he said some people don’t understand community because they have never acted as a community. They have always acted with self as the motivation and not doing something on behalf of a group.
“Sometimes people try to destroy you, precisely because they recognize your power - not because they don't see it, but because they see it and they don't want it to exist.” - bell hooks
Finally get your rest, bell hooks. 💔
Fix it, Black Girl. Fix us, Black Girl. Nurse us, Black Girl. Teach us, Black Girl. Be the help, Black Girl. Clean up our messes, Black Girl. Vote for us, Black Girl. Don’t complain, Black Girl. Let us touch your hair, Black Girl.
#WhitePeopleAgainstRacism
I get the hashtag. However, please be against racism outside of the safety of social media. Many people “amen” Black people on Twitter but won’t say one word to their racist coworker, spouse, or friends. Fighting racism extends beyond social media.
This is in Louisville, Kentucky. This is my friend’s son. Let’s be clear he was also teased and called the n-word. This is what happens when you allow bullying and racism to run rampant and provide PR for it instead of address it.
I saw this on TikTok. I don’t know if it’s old or current but I’m sure if it’s current the school will have some statement we love all our kids blah blah diversity blah blah inclusion blah blah all kids welcome blah blah.
Don’t trust it.
Isn’t it funny this parent complained that this movie wasn’t appropriate for second graders. But Ruby Bridges was 6 years old when she actually had to go through this. But a white second grader watching A MOVIE about it isn’t appropriate. Yall are really interesting people.
The Disney movie “Ruby Bridges” has been removed from use at a Florida school until a review committee can assess it after a parent complained that the movie “might teach white children to hate Black children”
“Whites, it must frankly be said, are not putting in a similar mass effort to reeducate themselves out of their racial ignorance. It is an aspect of their sense of superiority that the white people of America believe they have so little to learn.” - Dr. Martin Luther King
I just left the grocery store where an elderly Black woman was my checker. She said, “Do you see your receipt there?” I said, “Yes.” She said, “Never leave this store w/o your receipt.” It was in the way she said it I felt the weight of existing while Black. I took my receipt.
Remember when pregnant Black women were on crack during the crack epidemic? They weren’t called pregnant women. They never even saw Black women as mothers suffering under the weight of addiction and needing help. They arrested them and called their infants crack babies.
Please stop asking Black women to swoop in and save this nation. Black women only make this look easy. We are tired. Overworked. Underpaid and highly disrespected.
Many schools will be closed on Monday for Dr. King day. And still people are fighting for those schools not to teach about the person the school will be closed for. Make any of this make sense.
Daniel Cameron you decided that the back of a murdered Black woman would be your stepping stone. You chose to step on the grave of
#BreonnaTaylor
to advance your career. You made a deal with the devil and you lost. May the spirit of Breonna haunt you all of your days.
As a descendant of the enslaved, today I met a descendant of those who enslaved my family. He said, “I am sorry for what my family did.” And I said, “I accept your apology.” None of us can change the past but we can learn and grow from it. This has been a journey.
@SophiaTesfaye
@prisonculture
“Now sees himself.” Girl. Sit down. He’s in eighth grade. The world told him he is Black. What did she see his dad as? She clearly didn’t mind that.
@specialmed
It never ends. I was walking into a store behind people everyone got a greeting. I got stared at. Then I was in line dude never speaks. The person behind me said, “Are you Hannah Drake?” I said, “I am.” And now the dude wants to start talking. Nah. Keep that energy. I’m good.
Has anyone found the Black students? Ask them what they think. How did they feel that day? If they are no longer alive, did they have children? Did they tell their children about these days? What was said.
Black people for 2023 please STOP explaining yourself to white people that stop you and ask what you are doing, why are you here, etc. Keep it moving. You owe them NO explanation for existing.
@_SJPeace_
You really believe she is unfazed and unbothered? You think that didn’t cut into the core of her being? You think she didn’t go home and reflect on that? You think she didn’t question her job and why she puts up with this? The problem is, you believe she is unbothered.
Y’all stunned today? Y’all let a White man bomb a whole city block and hardly blinked. Didn’t do shit when these people stormed capitols in various cities. Hardly said anything when they plotted to kidnap a governor. And TODAY you’re shocked? Nah. The writing was on the wall.
@1984Lock
@angeld4nii55
It says near Jackson State Univeristy. Near doesn’t mean on. I can walk NEAR the campus in my town. Doesn’t mean I’m ON campus.
Remember
#BreonnaTaylor
today and go vote! Breonna never got the chance to be a mother. By Christmas 2020 she was dead, murdered by the LMPD. Instead of doing the right thing, Daniel Cameron chose to step on her grave thinking it would help him become governor. Prove him wrong.
Black people and People of Color, how many times have you taken the energy to go online, create an email account, create a fake social media account and use a fake profile picture in order to harass white people?
I know many of y’all are new to this “fighting for your rights” stuff so I would advise you to go back & look at what Black people have done. Nothing happening right now is new to us. That’s why it would have helped YOU to stand with us but that’s another topic for another day.
Do you think Meghan doesn’t want to cuss half those people out? Do you think Quinta is really happy her moment will always be remembered connected to a White man? Black people are often gracious in spite of. Be concerned when that grace runs out.
This will be difficult to watch. MAJOR TRIGGER WARNING!!! I just screamed God as loud as I could. How much more do Black women need to take in this world? What have we EVER DONE TO YOU? We have given you everything. You can watch the full video on TikTok. I can’t even finish it.
@_SJPeace_
As a Black woman I can guarantee she isn’t unfazed and unbothered. But she is doing her job as best she knows how because she has worked for her position, because she has to put food on the table, because she knows Black women can’t just “go off” without consequences.
When I heard
#Blackbird
(shout out Paul McCartney) and
@Beyonce
had 4 Black women join her on the song and what the song is about, I couldn’t help but think of these 4 Black girls Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Denise McNair.

Damn shame. We are so policed but when the police and FBI get tips about people shooting up schools or White families abusing their kids, they overlook it and then act surprised when tragedy strikes. 🙄

Now she knew this was going to go left from the jump. She has on kitten heels and long braids. She is not dressed for a fight. The other woman has on a hoodie, an Afro puff and sandals with socks. This wasn’t gonna end well.

It’s in the article. “Of the 19 people arrested, 12 were registered as Democrats and at least 13 are Black, the Times/Herald found.”

This is where we are in Louisville.
And before White women come on here in their handmaiden costumes and comparing this to “slavery”, before you make yourself a victim, understand White women are the ones doing this. So go talk to White women.
@Imposter_Edits
This is the moment reality set in. She knew she was gonna be all over social media. The wheels are spinning - how do I make myself the victim in all of this?
Y’all. See. You think you want to open Pandora’s Box until you actually open Pandora’s Box. Y’all like all that stuff when it’s 2 women. Just love it. When it’s the other way around here we are.
I’m telling yall and I don’t care what anyone says.
Yall could have an entirely different nation where everyone thrived if you fully supported Black women and allowed Black women to lead. This entire nation would be blessed.
This is a photo of

book event in Chicago. As a writer and speaker this photo tells me, “Hannah, your dreams aren’t big enough. Dream bigger.” Thank you
#ReShondaTateBillingsley
for this photo. It reminded me there is no reason to dream small.

Listen to BLACK people. A few weeks ago Kyle was saying Warnock’s race didn’t matter. Black people said it did. Now all of a sudden it’s “more consequential than we realized.” Who is we? FOLLOW AND LISTEN TO BLACK PEOPLE. Give audience and platform to Black people.
When it’s Black people it’s, “Let’s meet for coffee. I’d like to pick your brain.”
When it’s White people it’s, “What’s your consulting fee?”
Black people please stop meeting over coffee and giving away your greatness for an iced mocha latte.
@wxandnews
Some people act as if they haven’t seen everything Black people have been through to vote. A few White people with Trump flags and their police partners will not intimidate Black people.
“The female CEO of color emerges as best performer, followed by white female CEOs & men CEOs of color. The white male CEO is among the worst performers.” Black women & Women of Color could change this entire country but racism so this is how we continue to live. Isn’t it lovely!
@cbouzy
How difficult is it to just board your plane, sit down, fly and get off the plane? So damn easy. I have never gotten on a plane and said gee I feel compelled to say the f word.
OMG!!!!!!! I can’t even think straight!!!!!! Michelle Obama said my name!!!!!!!!!! I can’t think right now!!! Thank you so much for your encouragement, First Lady!
#IAmBecoming
Attacks will inevitably come during a campaign. But watching this video reminds me of what’s really important: family. God has blessed me with an amazing wife and son. They help me keep things in perspective. I love them so much! Plus, we have some pretty good dance parties!
When I make a post pertaining to Black women, I do not need ANY White woman saying, “This happens to me too.” While you may think this shows solidarity, it really shows your inherent nature to center everything around you.
@Brickz_Beatz
She knew in that look back. We just know. I have this poem Spaces and I tell people all the time NO ONE has to tell you that you don’t belong/they don’t want you here, you can just feel it. The little girl knew instantly.
It ain’t pretty unless we say it’s pretty, Black Girl. Give us your culture, Black Girl. Watch us flip it and become rich, Black Girl. Let us kill your sons and daughters, Black Girl. Don’t you dare say a word about it, Black Girl.
@Yamiche
@WRAL
@WRALLena
Note as soon as the Black woman said, “My money is as green as yours,” that’s when the n-word came out. As a White woman she couldn’t dispute that fact, that in fact she was just a customer just like them. But in order to feel superior she tosses out the n-word. Very common.
@Phil_Lewis_
You see how they posted all this information about the officers. Names, hire date, photos. It should be like that ALL the time. These men are about to get a swift reminder and rightly so. And TRUST the back the blue posse ain’t coming.
I wrote this in 2018. “Black Women have warned you time and time again! Do you want to know the trajectory of this nation? Listen to Black women! Warning comes before destruction!”
So this is something that was REQUIRED of Black people during Jim Crow. That same mentality that Black people must be agreeable still exists today. So it’s not “just a joke” and “get over it.” We see it for what it is.
This was a LAW. “According to Dr. Ronald L. F. Davis of
California State University, Jim Crow laws provided “racial etiquette” for Black people. Black people were required to be “agreeable and non-challenging, even when the White person was mistaken about something.”
White people don’t need another panel, another documentary, another Ava DuVernay Netflix special, another anything. White people just need to face themselves. We aren’t going to study or Netflix our way out of racism. WE ADMIT AND FACE OUR WAY OUT OF RACISM.
