I'm a woman and a feminist and I'm tired as hell hearing about how unfairly we as a gender are treated, especially in agriculture.
Life isn't fair. Quit bitching about it and just get shit done.
Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.
I have a customer that says, "Thank you for being on my team" at the end of every phone call.
He's an old dairy farmer, probably pushing 80. Not gonna lie, it hits me straight in the feels every damn time.
I think what makes me the maddest with this rally is the fact that the USDA sandbagged us for 18 months before absolutely destroying any farmer who was prudently trying to manage risk
Before parenthood I never realized you could ruin someone's life by making them take a bath.
And then ruin it again by making them get out of that same bath.
Farming is hard everywhere, dudes. Let's cut the, 'you don't know how hard we have it here' crap
actually, you know what, life is hard, whether you're a farmer, a trucker, a plumber or a teacher so hows about we practice some patience and treat each other with kindness?
Ok. So I'm no accountant. But isn't the point of a tax refund that you paid too much in the first place, meaning you basically gave the government an interest free loan?
If you're expecting thousands back, you just might want to adjust those withholdings.
I know we're supposed to cheerlead higher prices or whatever, but what we're seeing right now is going to have extreme consequences I can't even begin to fathom in the industry of agriculture itself and well beyond
My best friend turns 5 on Sunday!
Iβm not sure how it happened but weβre going to spend the afternoon at the petting zoo to celebrate!
Take care of the markets while weβre gone
Just a thought
why don't we compare the net carbon footprint of the 2020 presidential candidates over the next 18 months to the farting cows?
I have a pretty solid guess as to whose is greater
Just watched a car pass a tractor gearing to turn left. Thank God the guy driving the tractor was aware and waited to turn.
Guess preaching at those in cars isn't working, those of you in equipment just have to assume you're surrounded by morons.
Scanning social media this morning and all I can think about is how exhausting it must be to devote so much energy to being mad about stuff all the time
Negotiating with Trump has to be like trying to save a marriage with a guy who keeps showing up to your counseling sessions with his girlfriend in the car.
cow farts & burps are no laughing matter. they release methane, contributing to climate change. thatβs why weβre working to change our cowsβ diet by adding lemongrass to reduce their emissions by approximately 33%. learn about our ongoing study:

Farmers: I just wish there was a way to protect my downside but still have a way to get a better price if it goes up
Me: *gives a strategy*
Farmers: I guess we'll see what happens
Me:
One thing I've noticed on twitter (or maybe social media in general) is one's ability to dehumanize someone they disagree with politically.
It's astounding really. Like that person thinks different than you so empathy goes out the window.
How's about we quit that?
Just saw a Facebook marketplace posting:
"Barnwood for sale. $1/board. Remove at your own risk" with a picture of a standing barn
Dude's gonna get people to pay him to tear down his barn. Genius.
I'm going to say this louder for the folks in the back
YOUR HAND HELD MOISTURE TESTER IS NOT MORE ACCURATE THAN THE STATE CALIBRATED TESTER AT THE ELEVATOR
Real talk, the last 2 nights I've woke up not long after going to sleep in a bit of a panic attack
I have to get out of bed and walk around to clear my head and talk myself out of it
I just wanted to share because it's ok to not be ok all the time, my dudes
The reaction to the Bloomberg thing scares the crap out of me actually
most of you are pissed at a quote taken out of context (and most of you will respond to this tweet angry at me for even saying this)
shows just how easy misinformation is spread in today's world
The climate change argument in 2019 continues to amaze me
Obviously climate changes and can do so violently
And while we should do all we can to protect and care for the earth, the idea man can single handedly stop the climate from changing is the ultimate level of hubris.
We walked into school today and a little boy in Koltonβs class saw us in the hallway and said βKolton!β Walked into the classroom excitedly and said, βGuys, Koltonβs coming!β
Iβm pretty sure my heart exploded π
Putinβs invasion of Ukraine has driven up gas prices and food prices all over the world. 70% of the increase in prices in March came from the Putin Price Hike.
Iβm doing everything I can to bring down prices and address the Putin Price Hike.
Dear friends in agriculture,
put cameras in all your vehicles, tractors, trucks, anything you or an employee drives. just do it, it's worth the expense.
Just had a friend tell me of another farmer taking his life
One of my biggest worry in all of this is I'm not doing enough to help farmers from feeling hopeless
But I don't know how to do more
I'm 99% sure one of the ladies in my fitbit challenge group ties hers to her cat or something.
41000 steps on a Monday when you work an office job?
Ok, Deborah. Sure thing.
Today makes me worry for all of those growers already struggling with their mind set and mental health
if you need anything, even just a place to vent, please do not hesitate to reach out
maybe it's because I'm only a week removed from writing the check to cover our income taxes....but the thought of $95 billion just *poof* gone kinda makes me a little sick to my stomach
Those just coming to the realization Russian wheat or oil supplies will make their way into the global pipeline no matter what obviously need to read "The World for Sale"
physical goods always find a way to get from where they are to where they are needed, all it takes is cash
You buttholes talking about how this isn't a big deal and how stupid people are for cancelling things are why they have to cancel things.
You're the ones still showing up with a fever and chills, coughing on everything
being like, 'iM nOt SiCk'
Surgery went well!
Now we can enjoy our day. 4 years ago today Karl said he'd put up with me forever
I'm sure he's questioned that decision nearly every day since π
One behavior in farmers I see often that I'd like to correct, thinking you don't market enough bushels to have someone spend time teaching you about the markets
I hear "I'm just a small guy, probably not even worth your time"
YOU'RE ALL WORTH SOMEONE'S TIME
Generalization but I feel we're seeing farmers split into 2 groups
Those that want to learn more about how successful marketers/grain companies make money and how to implement those strategies in their operation
and those that want to just talk about how unfair everything is
