We are delighted to announce that the Namibia Revenue Agency Act, 2017 (Act No. 12 of 2017) came into effect today, 06 April 2021. This means the Namibia Revenue Authority (NamRA) is now in place and will be officially launched by President Dr Hage Geingob tomorrow in Windhoek.

The due date for filing of Income Tax Returns for the year that ended on 28 February 2020 is Wednesday, 31 March 2021. Taxpayers are encouraged to file their returns online via ITAS. A detailed Media Statement will follow soon.

The reconciliation of previously rejected EIG applications by tax register was completed yesterday. As a result, 74, 485 applications were approved. We are pleased to report that these applicants have already started receiving their grant this afternoon, especially those at FNB.

We are making good progress in processing the refunds on both Income Tax and VAT Tax. The majority of our staff members are back to work to process the claims and a big portion has already been handed to treasury for payment.
