For the dreamers, the Believers, the ‘my new second team’-ers. For Tasmanians and Tasmanians-at-heart. For the point provers and the pure footy fans. Thank you. With 100,000 Founding Members – and more to come – we are the team.

We’re thrilled to welcome Brendon Gale home to Tassie as the new CEO of the Tasmania Football Club. First, he will finish his term with Richmond Football Club, through which time we’ll continue to be under the leadership of Executive Director Kath McCann.
Well, that was quick. Twenty-thousand people who have become part of history.

You did this. Everyone who bought a Founding Membership, whether for themselves, a friend, a yet-to-be-born baby or a family member who is no longer with us. Now there’s a brand-new community of you—150,000—who can say "we are the team." We're humbled and grateful. Thank you.
A few numbers-behind-the-numbers:
As of yesterday afternoon—exactly one week after launch—we are at nearly 170,000 Founding Members, with the biggest demographic being people living in Tasmania. The second biggest are to be found in...
We’re sure it comes as no surprise to anybody that we weren’t expecting to ship more than 150,000 of these this week. Therefore, they may take a *tiny* bit longer to reach you. But they are on the way! They’ll also have your member ID (ICYWW, not assigned in order of purchase)

Winter is coming. A few reasons why a Tasmania Football Club Foundation Jumper is better than a black puffer.
(Please don't ask about when a long-sleeve version is coming we are still shipping more than a quarter of a million stickers.)
A few words on the choice of colours for the Tasmania Football Club.
Keen footy fans will know our state teams have been wearing these for over a century. And some may have expected a new direction with the launch of an all-new Club identity, which is hardly unreasonable.
We've been inundated with questions about merch. Yes we've seen the fake stores!
Here are the answers to that and other most-frequently-asked questions about merch.

in the wild! Will and Brad who helped us with our launch on Monday showed up at the game wearing our Foundation Jumper (you’ll be able to pre-order yours after Easter if you’re a Founding Member). Looking forward to future games of

So yesterday we put out a post comparing our new jumper (now on sale, ) to a black puffer jacket.
Everyone: OMG A PUFFER JACKET WHEN ARE WE GETTING AN OFFICIAL PUFFER JA—

We have reached 100,000 Founding Members in Tasmania! And guess how many overall? (Hint, it's not 200k, but close.)
Find out how many, as well as read other important updates from our Chair Grant O'Brien, here -->
This team didn’t come easy.
It took decades. Decades and people. Kicking into the wind until the team they were told would never, ever happen… happened.
This time last year, we provisionally became the 19th team in the AFL.
We are the team.
Would be so cool if all the towns across Tasmania rang their local bells at 8:55 am tomorrow so everyone could wake up and buy their Foundation Jumper at 9 but the people in charge of that stuff were all like “who is this" and "what is your boss's name."
This time last week we were gathering in community clubs and pubs and RSLs and theaters with absolutely NO idea what was coming. Here's the spot that played to supporters, who had just learned the new identity of Tasmania's first AFL Club.
I lost my dad last year, he grew up in Tasmania, as did I. He was a Bulldogs fan and I’m Essendon but I’ve signed us both up as

founding members to have our names engraved on the club forever together. Go Devils!!!! 💚💛❤️
Congratulations to Brendon Gale on his appointment as the Tasmania Football Club CEO.
A fantastic appointment of a proud Tasmanian with a decorated career, and a history fostering success.
We look forward to working with Brendon, Grant and Kath as the Devils organisation grows.
We just heard there's something called a "Devil Comet" and that it will reach peak brightness in the Southern Hemisphere this Sunday. Also known as 12P/Pons–Brooks, reportedly the

got its name because it looks like it has two "horns." Explain this then.
If you signed up to be a Founding Member, your stickers should be arriving about now! We’d love to see what you’re doing with yours: take a pic or a video and post with the hashtag

Thus it was enshrined in those meeting minutes — which you can see here — that it was, "resolved that the guernseys be myrtle green with 'braces' of rose and primrose" for Tasmanian football.
While we’ve still got a while to go before we get to play in one, the Foundation Jumper will be the very first piece of Club merchandise for sale. And like all Club merchandise this year, it will only be available to Founding members. Sign up today:
Hundreds of thousands of stickers are arriving in coming days and we want to see what you do with yours!

to share. Here's our Chair, Grant O'Brien, applying his.
This day in 1932, "The Examiner" tells of Tasmanian footballers who played “a sterner game on the fields of France and elsewhere.”
Grit and determination. Courage and passion. Selflessness. It’s a legacy that lives on. And we pay our deepest respect to them all.
Lest we forget.

Our poll to find the next piece of Tasmania Football Club merchandise continues.
This one is for those of you not raised or living in Tasmania (with 80,000 Founding Members off-island, that's quite a few). Poll below.
Our first application of the colours is in our new logo: green for its wild-looking fur, a pop of rose in the ears, and primrose gold for the muzzle, connecting Tasmania’s long local-football heritage to its exciting new future on the national stage.

Reminder that the window to buy the inaugural Tasmania Football Club Foundation Jumper ends at 5pm on April 19. Since it requires a member number ***you will need to sign up for membership by April 17 to buy the Jumper.***

Jeremy Howe has tasted the greatest high in football, an AFL premiership, but he has also endured his share of harrowing experiences. The first episode of our podcast, "At the Heart Of It," is live now -->
We’d always worn green, but at this meeting it was asked that teams avoid the “gumleaf green and wattle gold” of the Australian Board of Control of Cricket. So we chose one inspired by one of our native trees, the myrtle, and nods to the vast, cool forests of our island.
On the other hand, the primrose and rose were actually chosen *because* of cricket — these colours were worn by the state team to compete interstate in 1887. (Not to mention how they “pop” against the green...)
We've been fighting a biosecurity nightmare down on the island of late. Yes it comes with the territory, but also felt like we should say something.
See our full statement on the outbreak and how to fight it, here (and yes more merch is on the way):
But we chose these colours for a reason: because they were chosen for us.
In June of 1908, a meeting was convened specifically to discuss the colours of the different codes in Tasmania.
Q: "Have you seen these fake shops popping up on my Facebook feed?"
A: Faster than Isaac Heeney on the burst, that was. We are already on it, but in the meantime, don't give them your details or money. Not just because they're dodgy, but because they're tragic.
PS There's merch after this, but considering we've only existed for *checks notes* five-and-a-half weeks, this is something fun we can put out while we work on some bigger items!
PPS Everyone can vote, obviously.
But our first jumper – our Foundation jumper – was chosen because it will always be at the heart of our Club. Over the years we’ll wear many jumpers, and we’ll continue to reinterpret the Map.
