"Everyone knows that if I'm not in my trailer, I'm in Maude's or if Maude's not in hers, she's in mine. She's the sister I always wished I had." - Sydney Sweeney 💜
11.02 | Martha Kelly on working with Zendaya:
"I was nervous because she’s such a gifted actor. It’s intimidating to be in a scene with someone who can go from having a normal conversation to being in a natural-seeming emotional state for the character."
06.02 | Zendaya on episode 5:
"I’d fall into fake cactuses a million times, it wouldn’t be as painful as yelling in someone you care about’s face things you don’t mean, words that don’t belong to you. You know it’s not real but your body doesn’t."
24.01 | Angus Cloud on working with Maude Apatow.
"We always had a great time whenever we get to work together. She’s hilarious. [...] You gotta feel safe & comfortable to sort of open up. I always feel like that around her, so it’s not too difficult."
Gonna go out on a limb & guess it hasn't only been troubling *me to see some of the language used to talk about Rue by many. Needed reminder from our leading lady that this show is at its core, about a kid suffering from addiction. Written by someone who suffered addiction.
"My intention as somebody who has the privilege of playing Rue is never just to get people to watch it. That’s not why I do this. The point is I get to be a storyteller & to hopefully help other people heal through a character, feel less alone through a character." - Zendaya 💜
06.02 | Hairstylist Kim Kimble on styling Zendaya for episode 5:
"Making hair look not glamorous when you have a glamorous, beautiful person is hard work!"
10.01 | Maude Apatow on Fezco & Lexi:
"I think they're really similar. Lexi is just shocked that anyone wants to talk to her. And after everything that goes down at the end—he's such a complicated person & I think she's drawn to him & wants to know more."
26.01 | Colman Domingo on working with Zendaya:
"Z and I have so much trust with each other, we sort of dance together. She's so easy to work with because I think she comes from a deep place of empathy."
06.02 | Zendaya via Instagram.

: In an interview I was asked about Rue's journey this season, I guess this is what I hope we hold onto and are left with in the end...
Episode 5 tonight
10.01 | Zendaya on Rue:
"My goal is that even when she gets to those low points, you still root for her & view her in an empathetic way. So that you still believe there is hope for her & that she deserves happiness, even if she doesn’t have that feeling."
05.08 | Angus Cloud for GQ:
"I was trying to look normal & relaxed & chill [during his first scene]. But on the inside, I’m like, "I don’t know what I am doing. Why did they bring me over here for this? They should have gotten a real actor for this job."
"He was too special, too talented and way too young to leave us so soon. He also struggled, like many of us, with addiction and depression. I hope he knew how many hearts he touched. I loved him. I always will. Rest in peace and God Bless his family."
- Sam Levinson 💜

#2
All of Sam Levinson, Martha Kelly Eric Dane and Dominic Fike suffered substance addiction.
They have been respectively sober for 18 years, 10 years & 1 year 💜
"We wanted to create this montage of state of emotion for the characters. We came up with this idea of telling it in these sort of snapshots, these fleetings moments. As if you're going back & looking at these photos & you came across a shot of someone at a party."

25.02 | Doniella Davy about working on Zendaya:
"Doing makeup on Zendaya is so fun, obviously. We do a lot of work to make her look bad, and she still looks stunning. We were using a lot fancy lip gloss for all of her snotty, runny nose looks."
09.01 | Angus Cloud on THAT Nate scene:
"Yeah he definitely had it coming. It's well deserved. It was good to read that in the script. I was like, "Hell yeah, there you go!" Snitches get stitches. Code of the streets right there."
Bruce Wexler comments on the church scene 💜
@bruceywexler
: Just so you fans know, her [Zendaya's] walk down the aisle was as beautiful for us cast and crew watching on the monitors as it was for all of you watching at home last night. There were tears. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Bonus: Zendaya named her production company after what Sam Levinson tells her when he senses that she's forcing her performance
"Z, why are you acting?" He once asked. And the rest is history 💜
