Since the launch of next-gen I’ve done a complete 180 and at this point I wouldn’t really recommend a PS5 to people. Not until it has more games. Get an Xbox Series X and sign up for Game Pass.

Xbox just put on one of the stronger E3 conferences in recent memory and there was so much they HELD BACK on. No Fable, no Gears, no Perfect Dark, no Elder Scrolls, no Minecraft, no Tango Gameworks, no Ninja Theory. And that show STILL ruled.

Beat Cyberpunk 2077 last night and I haven't been this affected by a game - specifically its story arc and characters - in a VERY long time. Game has its problems/compromises but it's an absolute masterclass in dialogue, characterization, mood, immersiveness, character growth.

I play an Xbox game literally every night and I haven’t turned on my PS5 on in two months. Returnal looks great but it is $70. Game Pass is just too good to ignore. PS5’s library will get there... some day. (And it will be expensive).

The two Links in the BOTW 2 trailer looks COMPLETELY different. I think Nintendo is pulling a Metal Gear Solid 2 on us, and the ragged/barbarian link is who you play in the sky... ... and the ground link is actually a placeholder, and we'll play as Zelda.

From the beginning I had a rule to never read another game review before writing my own: 1) Ensured my confidence wasn't shaken if they liked it way more/less than me. 2) Ensured my opinion wasn't subtly swayed. 3) Ensured no specific turns of phrase seeped into my subconscious.

You can’t deliberately hide the console version of a game and forbid critics from using their own gameplay footage, and then claim you weren’t “paying enough attention” to how the console version was looking. I’m really enjoying Cyberpunk on PC now but CDPR’s message is hollow.

Microsoft focusing in on screen resolution and making the Xbox Series S a next-gen console specifically for people that DON'T have a 4K TV is very smart. 4K is still in only about ~33% of US homes! Way more for core gamers I'm sure, but far from everyone.
