This Epstein shite is my neighbor. I shall 'kiddo' him at every sighting. This post has made me go from pitying him to .... worse. I'll just say, I'm so sorry that Maureen was so abused by this idiot.
I promised to make the Twitterbird into a monster when I reached 6000 followers, so I'm pleased to introduce this fine little fellow - The Ravenous 'TWITpyre.' (When I get to 7000 followers, I'll draw Twittenstein's Monster).

Karen: Please post the painting of the ladies who are in love?
Me: No, Karen, the day is for celebrating the accomplishments of women. Too much female nudity out there as it is.
Karen: Discovering that there's always been a history of us loving each other IS an accomplishment
Me:
I'm going to get harassed for saying this but every woman should enter the forest at midnight/ full moon, transform & hunt a grave digger to ground, drink warm blood & then howl lavishly & victoriously at the beauty of the milkwhite moon. It's part of being an incredible creature
I’m going to get harassed for saying this but every woman should know how to cook and bake for her loved ones. It’s part of being an incredible nurturer and caregiver.
Happy BEASTER Sunday! (Post inspired in part by a beautiful kid's hesitancy around THE BIG BUNNY and her mom's great sense of humor). I've been working hard to give you as good a Book 2 as I possibly can. Big BEaster Hugs!
In this SNEAK PEEK of Book2 Karen references one of her (our) favorite paintings, 'The Nightmare' by the great Henri Fuseli (which is on display at the glorious Detroit Institute of Arts!)

I will tell Anxiety to shut up.

Please believe in yourself. Who would've thought that the creepy Chicago kid who dreamt (as Karen does) of SEEING the world's great museums, is EXHIBITING the original version of this Ghastly at The Centre Pompidou in Paris in May. Big Hugs to Rina Zavagli and

After my needle EMG I was told I would never walk again, plan for a life in a wheelchair. I was in terrible pain at the time and paralyzed from the waist down. Please don't give on your healing. There are many things you can do to turn this around. I'm glad to tell you what I did

Finally getting some of the drawings I owed folks from a previous crowd funding effort completed ... slowly but surely! This is the amazing Karen Green reimagined into the Weimar Era.
My dad drew this. He passed 24 years ago. He was my champion & also my hero. A Lebanese man w/a big heart but genocide in the Middle East is likely breaking that heart. He loved romance movies & the thought of lovers dancing (despite the bears around them) clearly delighted him.
There have been times during this strict quarantine that I've felt lost, alone and freaked out, but you 'fiends' out there, who talked to me and shared your cats and kids and madness with me have really made it all survivable. Thank you from the dank cellar of my dark heart!

Read an excerpt from Emil Ferris’s forthcoming graphic novel about a young girl’s self-discovery that probes her evolving sensibilities about the inhuman and the obscene.
It's not so much that I miss smoking (I don't ... exactly) it's just that I miss the days of my youth when I didn't have to think about how rotten it was for me. In other words I miss the feeling that I was living in a French film from the 1950s.
I hope this Valentine's Day was your best one yet. It sure was mine. I got to be thankful all day for 3 years of wonderful fans (it's my books 3rd birthday today!) Big Monster Love, Emil
My last word to TERFS. I've never 'felt' female so when I saw people - in freedom - realizing themselves in a way I might have wanted to, I felt like a bird with clipped wings watching flying birds. I felt joy, pride, excitement (and a tiny bit of envy) because we were evolving.
What is it with Vampires wanting to work a witch's last nerve!? (I like to put my avatar into Ghastly Magazines now and again, but I could use a few more warts and a crow, yes?)
The fact that a number of my favorite artists of all time - Salvador Dalí, Antoni Gaudí, Joan Míro and Pablo Picasso - were either from or influenced by Catalonia, makes this an especially sweet event for me. Thank you, Editorial Finestres!

Happy New Year Dear Monster Friends!
I wish for you that 2020 will be the best year of your life yet!
It's my prayer that Health, Creativity, Joy, Growth, Prosperity and Love will be yours in the coming year! ( and that you will be fierce in your dedication to your dreams!)
Arab children are dying right now. You should realize that when I was a child I was an Arab child. If you think you don't have any Arab friends, you have me.

From Book2 'My Favorite Thing Is Monsters.' This is after Karen & Shelley listen to a bit of a cassette containing Anka's Holocaust testimony. In part I made 'Monsters' in response to rising Holocaust denial. Such a thing is not to be tolerated. ALL GENOCIDE MUST BE REJECTED.
Dear Friend who demanded "why someone would be in their 50s before they brought any art out," PLEASE read a book (any book) about the lives of artists. Sadly a lot of our experience is getting shat upon and then being forced to spend time and energy attempting to scrape it off.
I love the people of Spain so much. When there you can feel their profound strength They endured very recent fascism and in many ways have so much to teach the world about how precious human life truly is.
This was my dad. A great artist. A survivor of horrors - least of which was being mistreated because he was an Arab - a Lebanese man. In this picture we're returning from the Middle East. As am I, he would be weeping at the genocide of our cousins. He refused to hate and so do I.
I didn't know Ed but I have been mourning his loss since I found out he was gone. An accomplished artist & like me (& like you) he was an imperfect creature. He was my sibling, a member of the human family & I want to go back in time & beg him to slow his roll towards death.
Never have I met people more serious about justice and more capable of solidarity and sacrifice than those whom I met in France. My heart is with you. (I don't have a TV but I hear - for SOME STRANGE reason - these protests aren't being reported on in the US. TRUE?)

A while back Count 'Ericula' (Eric Reynolds) dislodged an inconveniently located silver bullet by coming up with the brilliant idea of curating my past work into a comic for Free Comic Book Day. Thank you! I would never have received this Eisner honor had it not been for you.
Take good care of yourselves. Keep xtra beans & rice in the kitchen. Learn to sprout in jars. Know your neighbors (unless you're a hermit like me). Can't have too many books. Talk nice to yourself. That thing you dream of doing is possible. Start today. Babysteps are still steps.

Dear Monster Friends, I've had a few really lonely holidays in my life (and, thankfully, that isn't the case now). I'm telling you this because if the holidays are a dark time for you, just know that it gets better! You are powerful enough to change your world. 👹❤👹
I'm sure I will get hate mail for saying this but: (I think) that the fact that churches are tax exempt, but artists aren't is totally WRONG. As do churches, we ARTISTS GIVE the world a great great deal of its joy, imagination, inspiration and HOPE (as well as so much more!)
Annie Koyama is an amazing human being (and I wish she was my next door neighbor although I'm such a hermit I might not see her very much anyway). Much Monster Love winging your way, dear Annie! THANK YOU!

I really miss having a book in the world into which my dear fellow monsters can allow their beautiful wicked imaginations to roam beneath a midnight moon. This is my purpose, to tell you a story and join you inside that story for a long glorious howl.
"It is never too late to be what you might have been."
I lived by these words, at first as solace for not having all the time I needed for my art, but now I recall these words as fulfilled prophecy and I share them in the hopes that you will use them right this minute.

To Those of You Snared in a Hate Spiral: If you saw an infant laying on the pavement, wounded and in need of care, you would pick that child up and apply all the love you could to it. Its race or ethnicity wouldn't matter to you. PLEASE RECALL THE BEAUTIFUL SOUL YOU REALLY ARE.
When I wrote My Favorite Thing Is Monsters I kept thinking about a kid in a community that was violently unsupportive of their identity as a gay, lesbian, trans person. I kept imagining them secretly reading Karen's journal and not feeling alone anymore. This breaks my heart.
Hungary has passed legislation that bars sharing LGBTQ content with people under the age of 18.
It comes after the ruling conservative party passed another law making it impossible for trans people to change the gender markers on their documents.
Just saw The Zone of Interest. PIERCING! The chimneys/ash were strong visual touchpoints. Survivors talked of the constant rain of ash. In part I wrote 'MFTIM' to counter holocaust deniers trying to foist their lies. GENOCIDE IS ALWAYS CRIMINALITY.
This is an early version of Karen Reyes 'Guide to Telling When Deeze Is Lying.'
I wish we the people (the good monsters) had a way to tell when we aren't being told the truth. Karen thinks that whenever we are ruled by our emotions that means we are being lied to ...
Writing Françoise (formerly Franklin) has been a wonderful experience. Learning who she is and about the glorious (and long) history of trans people has changed me forever and I'm truly grateful to all the people who have educated me with their kindness, patience and brilliance.
Was very sad & angry during US destruction of Iraq for (as we now know) no good reason other than straight up US corp greed. Made this 4 the uni paper. Protests were small then, but me & my teeny kid protested. Today you young people are turning the tide. I'm so proud of you all!

Anti-West Nile Virus Recipe: Fill a small spray bottle with water and add a few drops of Eucalyptus and Cedarwood oil and lightly spritz this on yourself before going out in the evening. Mosquitos hate it. (I love you).
I'm going to take a little break from social media. If you've sent me something but you don't hear back from me, it's my intention to be back in March. Much Monster Love to You!
I was fortunate to have been allowed to feed my child and watch her grow up. We must not allow anyone to deny this most fundamental of rights to our sisters and brothers.
It's in bad taste when guys with 400 million dollar bank accounts tell you that you, having the minimum to survive, is - in their opinion - too much. Such statements make the (good?) monster in me wonder if Fava beans and a nice Chianti would improve their taste.
(Ta-daaa) Ah on n’aime pas trop l’expression “rêve de gosse”, mais quand même : bon gros rêve de gosse ✅ Je suis très contente et fière et impatiente et si j’ai fini à temps ça devrait sortir en janvier 2020 !

Artists, is this true? At this moment in my life, this is truer than true. What do you think? Is it just comics that kills? (I consider writers as artists, too).
Please don't tell anyone but I've proposed marriage to The Louvre although I don't think she'll accept (we both know she's got better prospects than me). If she shoots me down, I'll propose to The Prado. She's lush with Goya-goodness and she's a flirt. OK. I'm a Museum Whore.
I know that it's hard to be ANYONE in this world (and for many almost impossible). I'm lucky to have been published/ given a voice, but I wish it could be easier to be who I am and ask for what I need to remain a creator. If the difficulty is because of my gender, I don't know.
My new least favorite thing: folks who are pirating my work and adding insult to injury by being mean and rude about it. (BTW - This color job is like a punch in the neck).
If you haven't heard from me lately just know that I've 'gone in' 'so unreservedly and headfirst into Karen's world that I'm unreachable. I apologize, but I know no other way to find a story than to dive in DEEEEP.
On my Patreon 9 pm tonight! My first attempt (2012) at sequential art- is Milgrim's Ogress, the steamy story of an InterSpecies love affair between a lonely person and an Ogress. The first six pages drop tonight & then each Sunday another raunchy 6 pages.

In the case of girls (happens for boys, too, but differently) the attempt is made to box us, strip us of our ferocity and saddle us w/ an approved social identity. I'm grateful for R B G, her ferocious legacy is as vital to us now as it will be to girls and women of the future.
