Happy retirement to Edmond mail carrier, Orson! Orson is the last postal employee to retire who was on duty the day of the post office massacre. He was in the sights of the gunman, but amazingly a steel post deflected the bullet. Thank you, Orson, for your service to Edmond!

There’s been a post circulating on Social Media about attempted abductions at Walmart on Danforth & Santa Fe. The only report the EPD has received for the stated location/time, we responded quickly to & were able to determine the actions were NOT criminal, but a simple mistake.
Here are the men, women and one K9 that keep Edmond safe while most of us are sleeping! Thank you, to Edmond PD’s overnight shift. Stay safe, caffeinated, and warm out there!

Not a minute goes by that dispatch doesn't know where an officer is. They send officers to calls, keep track of their welfare, & give vital info. This "last radio call" officially ends 519's watch. Please pray for our friends at Edmond Dispatch. They too lost a very dear friend

The student in this incident was issued a municipal summons for assault. Misdemeanor assault is not a crime we can make an arrest for if it occurs outside the presence of an officer. That is why a municipal summons is issued and will be handled through our City Attorney's office.
The words left on the wall outside the Murrah building 23 years ago by the first responders known as Team 5 are a permanent part of our history. Thank you to our own Rockie Yardley, Tom Custer & Scott Fees for helping preserve that memory & for being part of Team 5
This is Gabe. He asked for cash donations instead of gifts this year for his birthday and dropped off a $100 check to apply toward our Cops and Kids program. It allows kids in need in Edmond to shop for Christmas gifts for themselves and family members. Way to go Gabe!!
7-year-old William saved his Birthday money to donate to the Edmond Police Department, so naturally SWAT took the BearCat by to pay him a visit!
Thank you William! Hopefully we’ll see you some day in a future EPD Academy!
We’re happy to share that today Sgt. Wells left the rehab center, and has officially been sent home! He still has a long journey ahead on his way to recovery, but this is certainly a major, and significant milestone worth celebrating!

After the Murrah Bombing, EPD bomb tech, & Team 5 member, Rocky Yardley got the okay to spray paint a message on the damaged Journal Record building. A building he believed would be torn down. 27 yrs. later the building still stands, along with the powerful words.

An update to the "Wet Bandit" of Edmond. If you've been on any neighborhood app lately, you've likely seen reports of a man turning on people's outdoor faucets. Well this slippery saga has finally run dry. Our officers have mopped up the soggy suspect, & his charges are pending.
Last night at the Jelly Roll concert in OKC, he noticed a fan in the crowd wearing one of our CJ Nelson memorial t-shirts. Hey Jelly, if you can send us an address, we'd like to send you a shirt! Thanks for the love!
