My weekend garden project: To spruce up a neglected corner of the garden. Set myself the challenge of repurposing & repainting what I already had & just spent a few bob on paint. Is it too early for a G&T cocktail? 🍸 😊
Woke up this morning to Valentine’s flowers & chocolate outside my bedroom door from my son ❤️ & that was before he left the house to give his girlfriend flowers & chocolates before she left home for work ❤️ My work here is done 😊
Lighting a candle this morning for the parents, families, friends, classmates, teachers & communities of Andrew O’Donnell & Max Wall as they are accompanied home today from Ios. A journey no family or no school community should have to make 🕯️

as my son has brought his sister to Paris this weekend with his hard earned money from his summer job before she heads off on her travels & her university adventure in the Netherlands. There was a time when these two couldn’t look at each other without a fight! 😊😂
Have to say my 20 year old son has turned out to be a great nurse for his Covid Mammy & even though I’ve no appetite he just left this at my bedroom door ❤️ (his 17 year old sister appears to be missing in action 😊)
Day 3 of a particularly nauseous version of Covid I’m thinking back to stints in bed sick as a child when my parents would lift me out in to their bed while they put fresh sheets on mine. Then back in to my bed & a new bottle of Lucozade. Oh the crackle of the orange plastic! 🛌
My 1st time in Bewleys Grafton St since receiving a call here over 5 years ago to say that my mother had died unexpectedly in her sleep. I hadn’t planned to come in but was lighting candles in Clarendon St church (my mother’s favourite) & found myself here - strange feeling
Love is…when you are feeling poorly (a dose of pneumonia) & your Auntie drops in with a jug of chicken soup ❤️ Our family put great faith in this chicken soup - it was my late Mam & Dad’s answer to all ailments 🥣 Thank you Auntie Ida 🙏😘
Graduation from secondary school for my daughter today ⭐️ Very proud of this bright, curious, funny & clever young woman 🤩 Wishing all of the Leaving Cert students around the country an enjoyable graduation weekend before they do their final prep for the exams

Early morn walk in St Anne’s Park & I met an elderly gent sitting on a bench. He asked me why I was in such a hurry. His words stopped me in my tracks & I sat down beside him & we chatted about the passing of time & he cautioned about lives being too busy

Back from an early walk to tackle the dreaded job of taking down the Christmas tree! Posting a photo I took on New Years Day. I was drawn to capturing this image.

My late parents wedding anniversary today. They were married in 1955 in Boyle, Co. Roscommon & had their reception in Rosses Point, Co. Sligo. I love looking through their wedding album at the style of a bygone era.
On this morn’s walk thinking about Ashling Murphy in Tullamore who never returned from a run along the canal in Tullamore yesterday. A young woman brutally murdered never to return to her family, friends & community. Thoughts with all

Mam’s 3rd anniversary today. Photo of our last Mother’s Day with her. She was blessed to have died in her sleep & on a night my sister was staying with her. A sudden death is such a shock for families but Mam had the death many of us aspire to dying peacefully in her own bed ❤️
Breakfast quesadillas for my daughter before she headed off to Greece on her post Leaving Cert holiday this morn - possibly the last solids she’ll consume for the week?!! 🤦♀️🤷♀️🤦♀️
Had a bit of a Mammy cry on this morn’s walk after dropping my daughter off at the airport as she heads back to Uni. Won’t see her again until I visit

Went for a blowdry this eve & who was beside me - our former President Mary McAleese! Fab chat as always with Mary on so many fronts - education, religion, life, death & mutual West of Ireland family connections - the best of company 😊
Thinking of a beautiful soul close to our family who died yesterday. Expected but still heartbreaking. Chris, wherever you are now this sunrise walk is for you. I feel the intensity of this sunrise as strongly as the positivity that you radiated 😢🌅💔

Thanks a million for all of the birthday wishes. Heading off for dinner with my daughter after a very relaxed day - she’s a great woman for the dinner chats - there’s nothing like a psychology & neuroscience student to serve up some challenging dinner conversation to her Mammy 😊

Coming to the end of 2 lovely weeks in Portugal - 1 with lots of visitors & 1 with my daughter & myself & outings with pals - enjoyed both weeks with very different rhythms. Well restored & rested & ready to get back to Dublin to more usual routines - the first being the gym! ☀️
The St Brigids Mammy Crew are thinking of our friend Rachel as she lays her beautiful son Matthew (19) to rest this morning after his tragic work place accident. Matthew was Rachel’s only child, they were the light of each other’s lives. Shine on Matthew 🌟
Continuing my mission to use up everything in my fridge, freezer & cupboards before buying more food: Panko & sesame crusted salmon with potato & scallion rosti, roast tomatoes, green beans & hollandaise sauce with scallion tops 😋
My son Luke should have been graduating from 6th yr today. Very proud of all his achievements & while we’ll miss celebrating with his pals & their families it’s still a milestone worth a mention. Well done to all
