As I’ve travelled across the country and spoken to a wide range of Canadians, I’ve seen and heard about the silencing and intimidation of Jews, both in person and online. It can take the form of shutting down exhibits or theatres, shows and speakers, defunding campus clubs,…
We will be calling Toronto’s Mayor and Chief of Police today to discuss how they will put a stop to this despicable targeting and attempted intimidation of Mount Sinai Hospital and Jews across Toronto and Canada. Leaders - at all levels - need to make clear that this is…
Targeting Mount Sinai Hospital to incite intifada against Israel and the Jewish people is flagrantly antisemitic and undermines the health and safety of the patients and medical professionals who work there. The torrent of hatred against Jews and Jewish institutions must stop!
The cancellation of the Hamilton Jewish Film Festival by

6 Million Jews were victims of a systemic genocide known as the Holocaust. Holocaust denial, inversion and distortion is an insult to its victims and survivors, goes against historical facts and our Canadian values.
Chanting for intifada (uprisings against Israel and Jews, including acts of violence and terror) in the streets of Toronto is a clear tactic of intimidation. The police must ensure that our streets are safe from hate, incitement and threats of violence.
Amid surging hate crimes targeting Jews in Toronto, it's appalling to see another rally in our city inciting hate and violence.
These chants calling for intifada - violence and terror against Israel's Jewish people - are anything but peaceful; they’re hateful.

Last night’s shameful forced cancellation of a bilateral meeting due to a violent protest is the direct result of caving in to the irrational demands of an out-of-control and noisy cohort, fueling their determination. It will take courageous leadership - which may not be easy but…
According to
@TorontoPolice
57% of all hate crimes committed since since Oct 7 targeted Jews, who are only 3.6% of the population of T.O. More needs to be done to stop the epidemic of antisemitism.
Many legitimate places to protest in Toronto & instead protesters chose dangerous overpass & peaceful neighborhood. Why ? Many better venues for pro-Palestinian rallies. Why not there?A desire to intimidate and target specific communities. Why? Antisemitism, loud and clear.
Let’s be clear, the targeting of the Avenue Road overpass in north Toronto by the anti-Israel mob is far from random. That overpass is a few hundred meters from a predominantly Jewish neighborhood and is home to multiple synagogues and Jewish schools. As the former MP for that…
The Globe and Mail editorial board has it right: “Everyone – every police official, every public servant, every one of us – must push back. If we don’t, antisemitism will further entrench itself in our society.”
Peaceful demonstrations are part of the Canadian fabric. Chanting “Zionists are degenerates” is a callback to Nazi-era slogans about Jews, especially when shouted among other phrases that glorify violence and terror. That’s not peaceful, it’s intimidation and it’s hateful.…

Today, downtown Ottawa. No more euphemisms, they are openly promoting terrorism and violence towards Jews. This is intolerable and it is time for Canadians to speak up.
I want to be very clear. Targeting Jewish children going to school to accuse them of weaponizing the Holocaust and antisemitism is a particularly cynical manifestation of antisemitism. My office reached out to the school that was targeted but this is bigger than one school or…
