Former prosecutor and state auditor. Member Buckeye Nation, sporadic musician, grillmaster, writer, Papa. There’s no such thing as a worthless human. Serviam!
I asked SCOTUS to rule on the Electors Clause question presented in Texas’s lawsuit. It is unconstitutional for judges and bureaucrats to change the rules set by state legislatures for selecting electors.
Gov. Abbott, himself a former attorney general, has the text, its original meaning and the merits on his side.
This constitutional crisis could be easily resolved by the Biden Administration simply following the law as written.

BREAKING: Biden’s federal contractor vaccine mandate enjoined.
Ohio wins; ICE detainees with final orders of removal will remain detained.
Other contractors may continue to work. Enforcement of the contractor mandate is enjoined.
The COVID warnings are NOT about you getting sick. It’s not about whether you’re willing to take the risk, or whether you can survive.
This is about whether you’re going to carry the virus to Grandma and kill her — directly or indirectly.
Pay attention and be smart!
Today, Ohio will argue in the US Supreme Court for one of the most basic principles of democracy: the one who enforces the law does not write the law.
If a crisis is sufficient excuse to ignore the Constitution, we will find ourselves with a permanent crisis and no Constitution.
BREAKING: The NCAA has agreed to terms that have been jointly submitted to the federal court for approval.
* No retaliation against players who play during the temporary restraining order.
* The TRO is converted to a preliminary injunction, to last till the end of spring sports
The Court specifically addressed this sort of intimidation on page 29 of its order.
We have a call to try to resolve it this morning… but just in case, we’ve got a lawyer on the road to the federal courthouse.

It is deeply troubling to me that a professional fundraiser like

We are going to get to the bottom of this.
Ohio Constitution, Article I, Section 2:
“All political power is inherent in the people.”
Having thoroughly scoured the Constitution, I find no exception for matters in which the outcome of an election is contrary to the preferences of those in power.
Hobby Lobby properly closed its stores during Ohio’s stay-home order.
Now they’re open again — what’s changed? Neither the order, nor the seriousness of the health threat, for sure.
I sent a cease & desist letter to their general counsel.
HB 68 is about virtually all girls and women, who should be able to compete in fair, safe competition—not about the tiny sliver of transgender athletes.

Heroin addicts brag that they don’t do heroin anymore, they do meth. Heroin will “slow” you down until you stop, meth makes you “go” until you’re gone.
As Zito says, don’t look away. This is real.
Ohio’s newspapers have performed admirably covering the COVID-19 panepidemic and getting solid information out.

BREAKING: The US Supreme Court issued a stay of the Biden administration ‘s OSHA vaccine mandate.
Ohio led the 27 state, bipartisan coalition that challenged the President’s authority. This is a win for the constitution and our system of representative government.
I spoke with

Ohio could be the difference in control of the Senate. Important for Ohio, and important for America.

I’ve not weighed in on Ukraine because I’m a state official. War is not in my portfolio.
But I am appalled by some on the right who are defending or even applauding Putin and his chosen war of aggression. They do not speak for me.
This war is not just and Putin is no hero.
The presumption of innocence applies only to criminal charges, and
@HouseholderOH

But the federal affidavit filed today — backed up with wiretaps! — makes clear that Householder is unfit to wield the Speaker’s gavel.
He needs to resign now.
There were a lot of oars in the water on this… congrats to Aziz and the team!
The question remains: what about all the other kids? I’d love if the NCAA publicly announced it would rewrite these rules so that they’re legal. But one way or another, there’s more to be done here.

Today’s election day… Get out and vote if you have not already!
I just cast my vote for Bernie Moreno to be the next United States Senator for Ohio!
@berniemoreno
I am humbled to have received more votes Tuesday than any Attorney General in Ohio history.
To those who voted for me, thank you from the depths of my heart.
To every Ohioan, I pledge my respect and attention to duty and the rule of law.

SCOTUS actually *affirmed* that you and your legislative colleagues are the ones with the authority to act.
The Court did not destroy the federal government’s ability to fight—but it did make it clear that legislators make law.
Your move.
Our planet is on fire, and this extremist Supreme Court has destroyed the federal government’s ability to fight back.
This radical Supreme Court is increasingly facing a legitimacy crisis, and we can't let them have the last word.
If Battelle’s technology for sterilizing face masks for re-use works safely, limiting it to only 10,000 a day is foolish.
If it doesn’t, allowing it at all is reckless.

@realDonaldTrump
intervenes today — but if not, I’ve got my team researching a lawsuit for tomorrow.
And you can die alone and forgotten, fondling the cash that you cannot take with you.
Our greatest possessions have value that cannot be denominated in dollars.
I’m vaccinated, but the President doesn’t get to force me to.
The Supreme Court just reminded him that he cannot “act unlawfully even in pursuit of desirable ends.”
By ordering employees at private companies to vaccinate, test weekly, or quit, he is acting unlawfully again.
A bipartisan coalition of attorney general are interested in Ohio’s potential anti-trust complaint against the NCAA.

Just got word that the US Supreme Court will hear oral argument on January 7 on our application for a stay of the OSHA vaccine mandate.
This isn’t about vaccines (I’m vaccinated and boosted and encourage you to talk to your doctor) This is about the limits of presidential power.
Received word from the White House that the FDA has issued an amended approval letter for Battelle’s N95 mask sterilization process.

Bernie Moreno owned the room tonight at the Columbianna County Lincoln Day dinner with his inspiring story and clear conservative vision.
He and Bridget have been crisscrossing the state…we need him in the US Senate!
Tomorrow, as I take the oath as Ohio's chief law officer, I will think about the wife and three children of Colerain Officer Dale Woods. He died in the line of duty Jan 7, saving a woman from a burning car.

GM got $60 million in tax credits for jobs at its Lordstown plant, then killed the jobs.
I filed a brief today asking the Ohio Tax Authority to certify a claw back. I want our money back. I’m ready to go to court.
We just sued the NCAA for violating antitrust law.
The immediate problem is the transfer eligibility rule and the confiscatory “restitution“ rule that puts the hurt on the athletes and their universities.

Looks like this late-hit smear job on Bernie Moreno is falling apart.
Dropping crap like this a few days before an election—when there’s too little time to responsd—is an age-old dirty trick.

The jury called it murder, and restored that hope.
Chauvin dishonored his badge and a noble profession. That should weigh heavily in his sentencing hearing.

Got my slingshot and five smooth stones up in the attic…
For too long, the NCAA has failed to maintain a consistent and defensible transfer policy. Refusing to let RaeQuan play is only the latest example.
Its approach has placed it in legal peril. The NCAA is not immune from the laws of competition. It cannot continue reaching wildly
Governor DeWine had zero authority to remove a sitting legislator.
It was Constitutionally up to the House alone, and I applaud their action.
This comment is either demagoguery or ignorance—and neither speaks well of her fitness for the higher office she seeks.
Members of the Ohio Statehouse finally had the courage to do what Gov. DeWine would not: hold Larry Householder accountable for his role in the largest bribery scandal in Ohio’s history.
No thanks to Gov. DeWine, Ohioans can be proud of the Legislature’s efforts today.

Talked a bit last night about the Biden Administration’s unlawful student loan forgiveness program announced Monday… you might ask, “didn’t SCOTUS just say he couldn’t?”
Yup. He’s trying it again. We’re suing him again.
I respect that. Many share your view.
Obesity causes widespread disease and early death, and imposes huge costs on the US health system. All preventable.
May the President unilaterally mandate 30 minutes of exercise and a vegetarian diet for all?
@Yost4Ohio
Many Ohioans, including me, support this step by the president. Simply urging people to get this necessary vaccine isn’t working sufficiently. Covid’s continue toll - much of it preventable - results in death, economic hardship for employers and a reduction in freedoms for all.

Ohio is leading this coalition of states challenging the OSHA vaccine mandate and we appealed to the Supreme Court of the United States early this morning.
This case will likely be a landmark decision on the limits on executive power, one way or another.

Ohioans already voted to reform how we draw our congressional maps.
This opinion takes that decision out of the hands of the people and is a fundamentally political act that has no basis whatsoever in the Constitution.
Ohio will seek a stay of this decision and appeal it.
