I used to have a severe addiction:
Learning.
I craved the cheap dopamine hits of discovering new methods, shortcuts and systems.
But the more I learned — the more I felt like an imposter.
So I created a framework to balance learning -vs- doing: 👇
Focus is what separates dreamers from visionaries.
Success isn’t about the volume of hours — it’s about the value of those hours.
Get discounted, early access to V1 of Focus Modes. Keeping the price low in exchange for feedback so I can make V2 soar.
I've chased productivity for years.
I've done all sorts of things to try to get better:
- Took courses
- Listened to Tim Ferris & others
- Read Deep Work, Atomic Habits, Make Time
All of these things helped me a ton.
But there's one framework I wish I had from the start.
🧵👇
“If only I had more time”
🛑 STOP saving every thread
🛑 STOP trying every new app
🛑 STOP joining every newsletter
🛑 STOP reading every productivity book
🛑 STOP retweeting every Notion guide (how many have you used?)
STOP giving away time.
START being intentional with time.
Focus Drivers: Work the way your mind does. 🧵
Divide tasks into 4 mental modes:
• Park (rest & recharge)
• Off-Road (gain knowledge)
• Sports (apply knowledge)
• Eco (low-effort)
The result?
Less stress, more clarity, and greater capacity for what truly matters.
I stopped feeling unproductive 3 years ago.
My secret? Not planning with absolutes.
I can’t:
• always have energy
• always avoid interruptions
• always estimate time accurately
Be flexible by learning to accept uncertainty.
Business can be a lonely place.
Building alone breeds doubt & imposter syndrome.
Don’t only chase customers.
Find friends who will become collaborators and champions.
A Smile File is an excellent tool for solopreneurs and creators.
It can help to boost creativity, productivity, and overall well-being.
- Smiles are Reminders
- Smiles are Motivators
- Smiles are Happy Chemicals
If you are:
🏋️ Constantly under pressure
👨🚒 Always fighting fires
🤥 Feeling like a fraud
😱 Always anxious
Don’t expect a productivity app to fix your problems.
You need a mindset shift first.
I was anti Twitter/X before I started. I thought it was all trolls and politics.
But I was so wrong. I've met amazing people here. And Spaces has deepened those connections into friendships.
How do you feel about X?
After 17 months of daily writing on 𝕏, I hit a wall:
🚩 Red flags that crept up silently:
• Quality of writing has dropped
• Pattern of stupid simple mistakes
• Engagement up, but satisfaction down
This isn't a writing problem. It's an energy problem.
I'm stepping away for
Focus 101:
⛔️ "I will turn off interruptions all day“
✅ "I will set aside a specific time for interruptions today — so I can do deep focus work without feeling guilty.”
Be realistic, NOT idealistic.
Your "personal brand" isn't a reality show.
You're not Kim Kardashian. Your brand isn't a popularity contest. It's a value proposition with a face.
Personality opens doors. Expertise closes deals.
Stop trying to be an influencer. Be influential.
A course, book or expert will not change your life.
Yes, seek out and learn from brilliant minds like
@thejustinwelsh
and
@AlexHormozi
But don't fall into the trap of endless learning & dreaming without action.
Change happens when you put knowledge into practice.
Friends of mine have lost $$$$$ from scammers.
But these scammers are a new breed.
I call them Scamfluencers.
You may be friends with them.
Which makes them way more dangerous & harder to spot.
Here's 7 red flags to spot a Scamfluencer:
(no. 4 will make your blood boil)
Put your grown-up pants on.
Wins don't come gift-wrapped. You're not a kid playing hide and seek, waiting for success to find you. Don't expect your idea to magically attract people.
Quit sitting around and start chasing your own success.
The ultimate morning routine:
• Rise at 4:04AM
• Swim under an iceberg
• Yodel for 2 hours 17 minutes
• Journal using tears of gratitude
• Make a vision board from gurus foreheads
It's now 11AM, and you've achieved nothing
Just start working, you procrastinating potato 🥔
The secret to being productive isn't sexy new hacks or efficiency tweaks.
It's about spending the majority of your energy on important, high-impact work that produces real results.
Everything else is noise.
Don’t chase quick wins & instant gratification.
Commit to consistency over time.
You don’t get a six-pack by exercising for 8 hours straight.
You won’t achieve your goals with 1 big effort.
Don't expect a win from every action
Consistent action that compounds with each step.
Most people think they need to plan 8 hours of work each day.
The reality is we all underestimate the time anything takes.
We also overestimate our capability.
Cognitive capability is limited.
• Plan 4-6 hours
• Add breaks as tasks
• Leave room for the random
Multitasking is a hoax, says neuroscience:
• The brain doesn't do tasks simultaneously.
• Attention hops back and forth between areas.
• Constant task-switching leads to 'attention residue' & lost productivity.
Focus on one task at a time for maximum efficiency.
My 𝕏-mas Spaces wishlist
1. Request mic on desktop
2. AI 'Catch me up' when you join late
3. Better Spaces discovery and search
4. Down vote people speaking for too long
5. Make co-host the host if host connection fails
What Spaces feature do you want in your 𝕏-mas stocking?
You don't need a degree to be successful.
Bill Gates. Steve Jobs. Walt Disney. All dropouts.
They didn't wait for permission to change the world.
Degrees open doors. But so does a sledgehammer.
Break walls. Break rules. Break through.
Last week, one of my clients got their 1st sale.
It felt like I made my 1st dollar online all over again. ⚡️🎉🍾
When your friends turn into customers, it's a whole new level of investment in their success.
And when they win, we all celebrate together.
What impressions are you chasing?
• Algo impressions: Likes, followers, reposts, ad revenue.
• Human impressions: customers, collaborators & cheerleaders.
Anyone can out work you on the algo. Nobody can compete with your personality.
Focus on the games you can win.
I was the kid who "couldn't focus" in school.
Grew up in a disadvantaged area. Kicked out of school 6 months before graduation. Teachers had very low expectations for my future.
10 years later, I walked back into that same school. But this time I entered as a business owner. To
9 months ago: Shared ideas on Twitter.
8 months ago: Sent my first newsletter.
Today: Collaborations, partnerships, friendships and people asking me to be their focus coach.
Tomorrow: 33rd newsletter going out.
Soon: Release my first digital product.
Play the long games.
"Always do more." Wise words until they burn you out.
A better approach? Exceed expectations strategically.
Instead of grinding more hours, focus on efforts that multiply your impact sustainably.
I moved the X app off my phone's home screen.
Now, it takes 3 swipes to open it.
Each swipe reminds me: I'm choosing this, not just falling into a habit.
Don't let your default become your doom.
I bookmark 𝕏 content in 3 ways:
🪣 Consume
Stuff I want to learn
🪣 Create
Stuff I want to be inspired by
🪣 Champion
Stuff I want to add value to or share
Do you use bookmarks or lists?
My grandfather had 1000s of books in his house when he died.
• I have no idea what he's done with all that knowledge.
• I have no idea of his opinions on those books.
That's a huge reason why I publicly
A strong visual identity builds trust & recognition.
Consistent visuals enhance your content & personal brand.
So I created the Twitter Personal Brand Kit.
Enhance your profile, highlight quotes, promote products & boost your newsletter.
1. RT
2. Reply "brand"
I'll DM you
If you want to be more productive, remember:
✅ Focus on systems, not goals
✅ Embrace consistency, not motivation
✅ Make habits, not to-do lists
Consistency, NOT bursts of excitement
Creators tend to have a knowledge imbalance towards learning.
They invest too much time and energy in acquiring information.
But they fail to apply what they already know.
Imposter syndrome reframe:
Stop comparing your behind-the-scenes to others' highlight reels.
You see polished snapshots of success from others. But you're forgetting the struggles that are hidden from your view.
Don't compare your backstage to their front row.
If you ran non-stop for 18 hours you would probably collapse.
But our brains lack such safety mechanisms.
You can think endlessly.
Those bursts of doubt, stress & anger are warning signs. Your brain is screaming "Please, give me a break!".
Give your brain some recovery time.
I have max 4 hours deep work per day before mental fatigue kicks in
I don’t try to create perfect plans and time blocking every second of my day
My goal is to be highly effective in those 4 hours
The rest of the day supports that goal
Forget balance. Find integration
Me 8 months ago:
- Learning copywriting
- Sending newsletters
- Sharing about focus
- Building systems
- Making friends
Me now:
- Still doing all the above
+ 1:1 focus coaching
+ Course waitlist full
Reminder: It's not always a dramatic change
Keep going & magic will happen
Reshape your long-term goals into the person you’ll become. Then try to be that person now. People like me (identity) do things like this (action) to achieve that (outcome).
People think building a second brain is:
❌ Choosing an app
❌ Capturing content
❌ Organising tags & backlinks
What it actually is:
✅ Creating a process
✅ Distilling your thoughts
✅ Guiding input by output
✅ Reducing efforts for your future self
That’s literally it.
Know your anxiety triggers
Anxiety stems from fight or flight responses to perceived threats.
But not all threats are the same:
Fear of uncertainty (something new)
vs gut instincts (a warning from your past)
Face the fear, follow your gut.
“I’m back is the 𝕏 death rattle.
2 weeks late you’ll be gone.
Don't let your return be a big deal. The added pressure won't help. Just pick up where you left off before your break.
Being your own boss seems so freeing.
Until you realise you're the only one holding yourself accountable.
As a founder, every decision is yours alone to make.
• No days off, ever.
• No sick leave or mental health days.
• All expenses come out of your pocket.
• No one to
I recently signed up for Ship 30 for 30, a cohort-based course by
