I don’t get Calvinist theology. I don’t understand looking at your child and saying, “I hope God loves you. But, if He doesn’t you’ll burn in Hell for His glory why I celebrate in Heaven at how glorious He is.” So I’ll stick with Lutheranism and the true gospel.

This is heresy and blatantly false. Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus. Paul was then taught by Jesus’ disciples. Paul was called to be an apostle by Jesus. Paul does not teach contrary to Jesus. Only if your Jesus is an image of yourself will Paul be in disagreement.

Any argument that tries to pit the Confessions against Scripture is a fallacy because the Confessions are an exposition over Scripture. They are built on Scripture, and deal with topics systematically, taking the totality of Scripture into account.

This was a big thing a few months ago, but in refreshing for today’s Genesis class I was reminded by Luther’s blunt statement: only Christians can properly understand and read Scripture today, including the OT.

Calling someone to repentance isn’t attacking them. You have to be divorced from reality, common sense, and critical thinking to believe and say otherwise.

The amount of people upset that a Lutheran believes Lutheran things and can show in Holy Scripture where these beliefs are true is much higher than I expected. Bravo @DrJordanBCooper , keep up the good work.

The Eucharist is the actual real body and blood of Jesus that are received orally by those who take the Sacrament, regardless of whether or not that individual has faith.
