@SkyScottBeasley
What sort of person do you have to be to go out of your way to make a day of trying to crush other people's joy and make them feel bad about themselves? Although, in a perverse way, I guess it shows why Pride is still needed in the 21st century.
Drama here as Jamie Delgado is ordered by All England chiefs to take off coloured shirt on a match court then to turn new all-white one inside out cos logo too big. "Sorry about him," says Murray.
Don't you mean that you're disgusted that three black men have been subjected to vile racist abuse, REGARDLESS of what they have or haven't given for our country? You're as bad as the trolls. You're a disgrace to your office and the country you no doubt claim to love.
I am disgusted that
@England
players who have given so much for our country this summer have been subject to vile racist abuse on social media.
It has no place in our country and I back the police to hold those responsible accountable.
@Natpirks
โโฆretail version of a goalkeeper jerseyโsโ??? They canโt even produce a grammatically correct, intelligible press release to justify their decision.
If you ever lose your passion for football - or for life, even - then ask Wycombe Wanderers to send you footage of Gareth Ainsworth's press conferences this afternoon. I genuinely feel better about the world than I have all week.
@FroggySimon
This is the wet dream of the Brexiteer nutters - a British PM flying to Brussels in a Spitfire, flanked by bombers, to force Johnny Foreigner to surrender.
Andy Wigmore. Gets Covid testing contract. Flees Swiss ski resort to avoid quarantine. Perfect illustration of what's wrong with this country. Bad boy of Brexit? No, he's a complete and utter c**t. And a mate of some of the c**ts in the Govt. Who won't condemn him, of course.
Novak Djokovic is sometimes tough to like, but my goodness, what an incredible athlete, incredible player and all-round alpha human being. Conducting an interview in his (?) third language, speaking so graciously and emotionally. In awe of people who function on so high a level
The world is a smaller, quieter, much less fun place without Paul Jiggins. Behind all the obvious characteristics that made him such a great tabloid journalist and such good company, Jiggo was also wonderfully kind. I just cannot believe I won't sit next to him at a game again.
Two fine journalists but, more importantly, two great blokes, after reporting on a game for probably the last time. Tom Hopkinson and Rob Draper, itโs been a pleasure.
@MsHelicat
I can't be arsed with commenting on the splash. But if Philip thinks whatever damage Harry has done to the monarchy is in any way comparable to what Andrew has done, he's an even sillier old twat than we all thought.
@JohnRentoul
@SpacesSteve
They are shameless scumbags. Same thing happened in my area. Tories are the Sewage Party. Their leaflets should be in turd brown.
If you don't want someone as gifted and exciting as Kyrgios to get his s**t together and win Slams, then you don't really care about the future of tennis.
Just finished Broken Greek with tears in my eyes, for all sorts of reasons. I'm sure it's an irony not lost on
@petepaphides
that this book is making him the "legend" he thought he wanted to be as a boy. Music and our shared humanity will get us through. Too-rye-fucking-ay.
Serena being very gracious in her press conference. The fact remains that even when lacking match practice she is still so good she can reach a Slam final. If she can stay fit, US Open final is a realistic goal. But can she still beat the very best when it matters?
You have to feel for Serena. But delighted for Halep. She had the "stigma" of being a No 1 without a Slam but has well and truly buried that in the last 13 months. And she's good to deal with, in my experience.
@Jaynesharp
@clairecohen
Just hope she is gullible like I was. What my parents told me was a new headboard for my grandparents' bed, strapped to the top of the car, happily turned into a 5' snooker table on Christmas Day.
A Cambridge fan I first met in 1985 on a static caravan park in South of France, whose late dad was closely involved with club, today took his young son to St James' Park and saw the Us beat the richest team in football. Try telling them - and me - the FA Cup has lost its magic.
@Bridgey1982
@thehistoryguy
People didn't know what they were voting for and/or don't want what is emerging. Why are Brexiteers afraid of People's Vote? Make your case on basis of Brexits that are actually available, not on fictions of 350m/week for NHS, end to immigration, a new empire based on marmalade.
@BBC6Music
I never thought it would happen with me and a girl from Clapham - Up The Junction, Squeeze. Or: caught between the twisted stars, the plotted lines, the faulty map that brought Columbus to New York - Romeo Had Juliette, Lou Reed.
@amolrajan
@sportingintel
You feel like he's thanking him for every long drive to a kids' game, for every kick up the arse when the effort dropped, for every match watched in pouring rain. And, probably most of all, for believing in him when others didn't and being around to see him prove them all wrong.
@RichardDawkins
I find it strange that God has not intervened, especially after that lady spoke in tongues and asked him so nicely to send his angels to help brave Donald.
As he heads into retirement, all hail the great
@kevinmitchell50
He writes as he talks, like a great storyteller with a bit of the blarney and all the other ingredients of heritage and experience that he inherited or picked up on the way. And a lovely man to boot.
Can't help but agree with the Arsenal fan whose verdict on the referee is "dogshit". That was a foul or a goal kick. Not a corner. (It was a clear foul)
Matt Dunn asked legitimate question. I bet similar was put to Murray when he kept falling short in Slams. Tough having job performance dissected in public. But all athletes get it. To call it sexism is ridiculous and self-defeating at time when USWNT have exposed real inequality
Will forever be one of top 10 sporting moments of my life, let alone career. Without this, Davis Cup 2015 probably doesn't happen. And his celebration and hug with
@LeonSmith
was almost as good as his tennis and his attitude.
The Serena whataboutery misses the point. No-one shd speak to an umpire like that and get away with it. Where male players have been treated leniently, that was wrong, too. But as a player screamed in his face, pointed and questioned his integrity, was Ramos supposed to think 1/2
@antoni_UK
@DominicRaab
It is the most incompetent, mendacious, self-serving government of my lifetime. Barely an ounce of charisma, ability or integrity between them. And Labour is letting it happen. Shame on them all.
#Ziggy50ListeningParty
the first time I played this record, at my friend Paul's house, the fade in made us think there was something wrong so we turned up the volume. The first chord of Five Years shook the house.
@LlSTENlNG_PARTY
Have we all been played? If Super League just a diversion tactic, then don't forget to protest against nonsense new CL format that's going to be approved tomorrow. All it is, is a staging post to this SL. Cancel your Sky and BT and Amazon. It's the only language they unserstnad

@RafaelNadal

Nah. Between Rafa and Novak. Fed only won RG when Rafa was mentally off. Djoko has done the King of Clay twice now. If he wins RG this year, he'll join rare group that's won each GS at least twice. Fed and Nadal haven't. Argument cd be over end of this year.
OGS getting dog's abuse from away fans after going over to clap them. Fernandes so upset he gestures to them to stop and has to be led away by a United sub. This must be the end.
@NaJu71392188
@PJHC11
And if I remember rightly, the war against uprising in Haiti cost France so much they agreed to the Louisiana Purchase. Which paved way for massive expansion of US and of slavery.
I've discovered some people in football worse than Sergio Ramos: the LFC "fans" (and/or gamblers) wishing death on Karius and his family. It was just a football match, you utter scumbags.
Because they are all by now hopefully a few drinks in, all hail the British press tennis posse at the 02. Especially the great
@kevinmitchell50
whose retirement will be journalism's loss, but golf's gain (sic). Have a great night.

@HashimCole1
Spot on. League tables with their names left out. Sponsors' names on shirts blacked out. 3-0 defeats in their remaining games. Places in CL/EL for next season exclude them. No mercy.
ExCel owners charging for the Nightingale hospital? Sunday Times. Scotland's CMO breaking her own rules? Scottish Sun on Sunday. If you want to know what's going on
