Wouldn't have believed this if I hadn't seen it... Mama Gambel's #quail has ALL SIXTEEN of her newly hatched chicks beneath her (until a few escape). Papa stood guard while she stayed that way a good 10 minutes.

LITERAL tears of joy cried... Desert #tortoises ! We haven't seen them since 2019, with such extreme drought. I'd feared the worst. And LOOK: three different ones! 1. Tennis ball 2. small cereal bowl 3. regular cereal bowl-sized. My ❤️overflows!!! Some of them survived!

Finally got to see the young, male #bobcat 's coloration! I named him Niño because, when I lost my spotted Bengal girl Niña last month, I asked her to send me a bobcat as a sign. I meant for one day... yet he's become our new regular 3-4 xs/week (last regular was 2020). ❤️
