Imagine a new approach to soccer in America: integrating the game fully into schools!
Pros:
1. Accessibility: Soccer becomes more accessible to all students, regardless of their background, promoting inclusivity and talent discovery.
2. Cost Savings: Families could saveโฆ

I just read the entire Japanese Football Philosophy on how they will win the World Cup by 2050. Probably one of the most thorough documents I have ever read. It brings to light a lot of things the US needs to implement.
Today I interviewed an old trainee and now friend as my first interviewee on my podcast. I can't wait to share it with you all.
Her story goes like this๐
You should be constantly evolving as a person.
People always assume you will be the same person every you meet.
So surprise them.
Keep evolving for the better.
Game IQ is a severe problem in youth soccer in America. Not only for the kids but for the parents, too.
They are over-invested in training, playing games, and winning trophies but underestimate the value of watching, researching, and learning the game.
Players that are motivated and passionate feel better about themselves and think better about self-improvement. If you can make someone who is motivated and passionate think a bit about why they are playing soccer, then you can help them improve their game.
I often catch myself telling players not to be so hard on themselves.
Then I remember my upbringing.
I was wrong. You should be hard on yourself.
Being hard on yourself gets results.
Itโs the negative self-talk that keeps you from the results you desire.
The only people I see to blame for these mass shootings are the media, politicians, and activists who spend all their time fear-mongering everyone into a corner to pick a side instead of dealing with the problem. The political virus is exactly whatโs causing these mental issuesโฆ
I'm stronger than I look
I'm stronger than I sound
I'm stronger than I feel
I'm stronger than how everyone sees me
I'm stronger than how everyone hears me
I'm stronger than how everyone feels about me
Say these words for 1 minute in the mirror every morning. You will change.
@CoachingCruz
Itโs all relative to where the player is looking to go play , age , etc ? You can always learn the techniques of ball mastery but itโs how fast you can do said techniques in a game situation.

Probably the biggest misconception from people on the outside is that we pretty much just turn up & coach!
Most people don't realise how much goes on behind the scenes, so many coaches put their heart and sole into it for no financial gain.
It's all about the love of the gameโค๏ธ
Can anyone name a superhero who didn't go through hardship before they became a hero?
You canโt because there isnโt any
So, If youโre going to be a hero, you will suffer.
This is a dry run of the new curriculum we are implementing for group training starting in January for younger players. We want to create confident, skillful players who are two-foot dominant with the freedom to express their passion for the game.

The truth is I have regrets.
I didnโt do everything I could to reach my goals as a young player.
I made a lot of bad choices.
I made a lot of excuses.
I hid behind my pride.
But Iโm here now to teach the young players what I should have done.
I was you once.
I agree with you on your points. But when I say DESIRE to go pro, you change it to THINKING you want to go pro which really changes the core meaning of my statement.
There are more joystick coaches than skill trainers.
The skill trainers focus on developing players' skills and allowing them to express themselves (at least the ones I know), while the joystick coaches restrict touches' and discourage dribbling.
You will find these coachesโฆ

If it's one thing I got to practice during this time off that helped me improve my coaching is patience. ๐

Anyone who claims city is a โboringโ team doesnโt understand the game.
The level of detail with off the ball movement - technical execution & confidence on the ball is world class.

Today, I made a 9-year-old girl cry at practice.
It was her first training with me and she was very nervous. She was expecting me to yell at her when she made mistakes but I never did.
It was tears of relief and joy.
The relentless pursuit of technical excellence is a beautiful sight.

Set a high standard and your message will be clear as day

This is a huge pet peeve of mine. Can we get off the plane in an orderly manner? If you are in the back, sit down and wait! Standing up in the middle of the Isle makes the process even longer
Technical player development can't be forced, rushed, or guaranteed. This makes it more important to understand development as a whole and not through the guise of just grit.
Thatโs just one piece of the puzzle.
Parents, if your kid is not training outside of team and private training. You're wasting your money.

An athletic player who doesnโt watch football can get by and make it to a high level but an athletic player who watches and obsesses over the game can do unbelievable things at the highest level.
If you canโt fly then run, if you canโt run then walk, if you canโt walk then crawl, but whatever you do you have to keep moving forward.

How players juggle a football identifies how much personal time they have spent with the ball.
If time builds stronger relationships/bonds between people, imagine what it could do with a football.
The mentality you train with is far more important than the field you train on, the cleats you wear, or the equipment you have.
None of those things are going to get you better if your mentality is weak
