This Friday, the HOL girl’s basketball coaches are hosting a conference wide purple out to show our support for the Barnesville community and the Hebranson/Halvorson families. A free will donation for the Hoyt Halvorson scholarship fund will be set up at each site. #FlyHighJaynie

Sorry Grant (I love what you do to support girls basketball), but I disagree on this take. We lose multi-sport athletes when adults make kids pick one sport over another. It’s track season, why risk the chance to get injured right before sections. Track sections > AAU tournament.

Several top outstate Minnesota players aren’t in the gym today because their track coaches have forbidden it. The section meet is next Thursday. As in 5 days from now. People preach about wanting kids to play multiple sports & then do this to prevent it! 🤷🏽‍♂️

First day of official practice in the books after two tough days of tryouts. We finished with one of my dad’s favorite passing and conditioning drills. We needed an extra guy, so I jumped in and demonstrated a perfect 80’s two handed chest pass!

Proud son moment, at tonight’s @mshsca Hall-of-Fame I was able to present my dad the George Haun Leadership Award for his outstanding leadership to the coaching profession. It is definitely well deserved for all he has done for basketball and it’s coaches in Minnesota.

Drove 4 1/2 hours to Valley City, ND because this little girl wanted to shoot baskets with her dad. The little girl starts her senior year of college tomorrow, and the dad will be thinking how lucky he was to spend so much time in a gym with his girls on his way home.

Congratulations to @NatalieSteichen she is now the leading scorer in the history of all 3 schools: Dilworth Locomotives, DGF Rebels , and Glyndon-Felton Buffaloes. The previous record was set by @jilldevries with 1818 who played for the Buffaloes.

Dropped my baby off at VCSU and of course she handled it way better than me. Before she left, she planned a scavenger hunt for us to do when we got home. It ended with a pic of our girls in a nest, and a note telling us they may not live at home, but our nest will never be empty.

I would like to say that I have no idea how the Breckenridge School Board could remove a coach of Arly’s character the same month he was named your district’s teacher of the year, but as always it comes down to someone’s personal agenda versus what’s best for student-athletes.

In 2001 we went to Milwaukee for a family trip & I called Coach Pearl to see if I could watch his practice. Not only did he say yes, he made the time to visit with me & then played with my 2 year old daughter ( @RaeCritch ) for 15 minutes. Not surprising he was so classy in defeat.

I have been saying this for years & now that I don’t have a horse in the race I will say it again. Section 8AA needs to seed 1-18 (which they did 4 years ago). Barnesville & Breckenridge would be #2 on the other side and now they don’t even get a home game. 🤦‍♂️

After every game I always talk to my dad and get his thoughts whether we win or lose. Today my players were lucky enough to hear them as he ran our practice. His attention to details and ability to connect with others is amazing. Once a teacher, always a teacher!

Drove to Jamestown to take @RaeCritch out for supper. After dinner she wanted to shoot with her dad and show me one of her shooting workouts. Love spending time with her and am so proud of her.

Somebody had a PaY (philanthropy in youth) meeting this morning, so she made me wake up extra early to get her game day shooting in. Plus it allowed me to try out our new @drdishbball warm up drill.

Super proud of @ofeigum , no one put in more time during the past off-season only to tear her ACL in her final volleyball game. She has been determined to get on the floor this year (no surgery) and here she is running out for the 1st time. This kid won’t be stopped!

Former player, now co-worker. It’s great seeing @AllyReno every day. She works just as hard teaching as she did as a player, skipping lunch to prepare for next week by making copies. Seeing your players grow up and be successful is what coaching is all about.
