One year ago today, I had surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from my bladder. It has been a year of growth and a year to be thankful for life’s blessings. I am blessed that surgery was all that was required. I am also blessed to be surrounded by so many great people every day.

You want to know why our team is awesome? Has nothing to do with how they play on the court. It’s how good they are as people. Hudson couldn’t wait for today because he was going to ride the bus and be with the team. They treat him like he’s one of them. They are special.

Last night my first season as a head coach came to and end. The highlight of my 17 year career is having the honor to lead these young women as their head coach. They are tremendous young woman who make me proud on and court and off the court. It is a blessing to lead them.

On this day 7 years ago, we were already at the hospital. It rained. It snowed. The sun came out. A little before 6:00 pm we were given life’s greatest blessing and Hudson was born. It’s life’s greatest responsibility, privilege, joy and blessing. Happy birthday Hudson!
