Every season has an ending, ours came midway through a shell drill. The love, brotherhood and lifelong support system supersedes how it ended. It’s greater than the game itself. Thankful for every day we had and fired up for the incredible things ahead.

The word "adversity" is thrown around a lot in sports. In this case, it would be an understatement: Washington University's Justin Hardy is playing the season while battling stage 4 stomach cancer. And he just graduated a semester early.

We loved having the guys over for a Thanksgiving meal today. Food, Basketball Family and Football! Thankful to have such a quality group of young men in our program. Congrats to Ron for dominating in the first annual WashU MarioKart Tourney!

Please, please, please stop calling it "a grind". When I was a player the best part of everyday, especially in the off-season, was going to the gym or playground, yeah playground!
And as a coach I've never thought of it as "a grind". I'm not roofing a house or pouring concrete
On February 6, 2022,
@jhardy_32
ties a career high with 28 points to lead WashU to a 76-68 victory over Case Western. “What can’t Justin Hardy do” is the call from
@JayMurryPBP
.
Justin received incredible support from across the UAA. Between the lines…they battled but off the court, the admiration was evident. One week later (Feb 6), Justin went for 28 & 7, leading us to victory over an excellent CWR team.
Last season, as
@WashUBasketball
was trailing Case Western Reserve by 11 points on the road and the game appeared to be unraveling, Spartans commentator Ron Jantz shared this Justin Hardy story. 🔊 Listen.
Hardy finished the game with 16 points and 7 rebounds.
