Green Beret | Former Infantryman | Educator | World Traveller | 40k nerd | Well-known bullet magnet, and for people trying to bring me down | Not Scott Ritter
We're hot with Episode 2 of the Funker530 Show. In the studio we had
@Chuck_Ritter92
. Chuck took us through each of his Purple Hearts, we discuss current US Military 'culture', and more.
See you there, link below. 1845 EST. Time now.
Tip for retiring Special Ops:
Ensure you clear a 50x80m area on your property.
This allows for a helicopter to land while you are chopping wood, and a guy in a beret and dress uniform to walk up and tell you they need you for a special mission after you retire.
People HATE seeing soldiers dancing for some reason. Whether its US, Ukrainian or Saudi’s etc. A video of a soldier dancing goes up and it’s “OH MY GOD!! THIS IS WHAT WE SUPPORT!? DANCING?” As if it’s some affront to God. Probably all people that can’t dance. They just jealous.
Serious post the I’m sure will ruffle some feathers:
Just because someone has been in the military and deployed, even deployed a lot, that doesn’t make them a foreign policy expert. It also doesn’t make them an expert on U.S. politics.
I just walked into a meeting with a ton a Warrant officers. They all had their hands in the air. I asked what was going on. One said they had unanimously voted to make the SecDef an honorary warrant since he didn’t show up to work and didn’t tell anyone where he was for four days
I’ve seen a lot of hate on this on Social Media. Some seemingly triggered and unhinged about it. The question I have is why? Looking at the profiles I would say the vast majority of those upset never went to Sniper school, or were even in the military.

I’m starting a 3 day Special Ops leadership experience course. 10 spots, $300 each. I’ll teach you how to lead as we do yard and house repair on my properties while I yell at you. Learn how to use a chainsaw, mower, to paint, pressure wash etc while under stress. DM me.
In 26 years in the Army this is the first ever Bronze Star citation I’ve ever seen that talks about moving office furniture. I mean, not trying to demean the award at all as logistics is important but it’s a first.
It's fun to post pictures of Airsoft peeps and others saying, "Thank you for my service," which gets tons of people riled up and calling me stolen valor, etc. But this is actually me. I just like to be humorous and poke at those who take life a bit too seriously.
Yes, I’m an active duty Army Sergeant Major with a sense of humor. I deployed to Yemen, AFG, Iraq, Syria and other places for the duration of the GWOT so I feel zero guilt in making fun of myself, the Army or anything else. There are times to be serious, but never take yourself…
Just because you were an 11B, infantryman, or an 18 series Special Forces MOS in the Army…..that
doesn’t make you a superior human being than other soldiers in other career fields.
Gentleman in this product add claims
- Silver Star
- 4500 kills
Pull-up his SS citation and well, no shit that’s what it says. Wild times. I suppose I can only applaud.
One of the most insane ads I’ve ever seen
We’ve got:
-Silver Star recipient
-Mentions of 4500 confirmed kills
-Marksmanship demo
-Close range side arms drills
-Humvees
-Horrible stock military reenactments
FOR HEMP CREAM!!!
I’ve been patiently waiting for this to happen after the missile fiasco in Poland yesterday. But then l remembered that I’m not retired and won’t be for another year and a half so I just went to work.
I have good intel a certain journalist is trying hard to dig up dirt on me. From what I know they are dialing in on this team photo from 2014 and intent to report on the lack of diversity and alleged wide spread nepotism.
I have a confession to make.
Being a former Infantryman, a current Special Forces soldier and following the Ukraine war closely.
Artillery truly is the King of Battle. That and and the logistics field.
Two people sent me DMs a few weeks back upset that I was “trying to insult Mike Vining” when I posted this. This isn’t Vining, it’s literally me in 1998. I can, and will, make fun of this dude all I want. And since I look like Peter Griffin, so can anyone else.
This is true. I recently bought one of these and I’ve been experimenting trying to figure out why Army field coffee was so amazing. I found the secret after a lot of experimenting. You have to percolate folders for an hour. It has to be transferred into a mermite and driven…
@Chuck_Ritter92
@smcroasters
Don’t forget the transfer to the green mermite and driven 15k on bumpy roads which only enhances the flavor.. also have to consider 1SG/Team Sgts mood prior to delivery!!!😂😂😂
@Snakeeater36
I’ve been to at least a few shooting schools and I can say that….I’ve not only never seen this technique but also never fathomed something like this could exist.
On this day in 2008 we lost Bill Neil and Will Jefferson in Afghanistan. Bill was our Senior Special Forces Commo SGT and Will was our Air Force JTAC. I was sitting behind Bill manning the gunner’s station and Will was sitting just next to me. Cheers to both! - DOL
I don’t understand the “Alpha” man movement with people literally putting that in their profile. Someone explain it to me like I’m 5. Does this make you like a super bad ass?
I’m turning in CIF tomorrow. I was issued all of this in 2002 when I came from the 25th to Bragg. That sleeping mat took me through the Q Course. This stuff is ancient.
I remember reading the book “On Killing” when I was a young infantryman with with no deployments. I found it to be an interesting read. I recently read it again, 13+ deployments later, and this time I felt like it was filled with a lot of nonsense.
@DonutOperator
@FunkerActual
It's a bad habit. Sometimes, the best bad decision you can make in combat is to move directly and aggressively into enemy fire. Not coming back in one piece or not coming back is simply an occupational hazard. It's a risk all who serve take up willingly.
Listen, just join the damn Army. This is what it can do for you….from this shit on the left to the warfighter on the right. Be All You Can Be.
@GoArmy
. You also get to go to school for free and travel the world on top of being able to be a better you.
There are a lot of questions about HLZ size and I’d they can do roof pickups.
NO!!
It has to be 50 x 80m of clearing and you have to be outside with your shirt off chopping wood, or carrying trees, or they don’t come! Period! Anything else is completely illogical.
CIF turn in complete. I have to keep a canteen cup and PT belt on my HR until I clear post. He said I would feel like a lesser SGM if I didn’t at least have a PT belt on my records until the final day.
You ever stuck a beef frank in a wound? Fits perfectly and then you cut off what’s sticking out. Little super glue and then sand it. Blends right in. Never even know there was a hole in the first place.
This thread is still going strong. If you need some entertainment during a coffee break please scroll the comments. Probably one of my best life accomplishments to date.
These were the first batch of RG33s in Afghanistan. We had just completed initial training and were driving these back to the firebase. They had 500lbs+ of explosives in a culvert. Threw the vehicle down the road. The soldier, SSG William Neil and TSgt William Jefferson were…
This was the very first Afghan National Army Special Forces class to graduate in 2010. My team was tasked with their creation. We built Civil Affairs and PSYOP into the ODA structure so that it was just another SF MOS for them. The program was highly successful until the end, and…
Listen…this is some Airsoft dude. I don’t know who it is. I only post it regularly because it really makes people angry for some reason. There is so much wrong with the photo I feel any normal, rational person could see it’s a joke.
I’ve found that one of my triggers is when people refer to higher level positions in the military as positions of power. They are positions of responsibility. That’s not just semantics, but an important nuance.
I love going to the grocery store here and guessing how many SOF guys are inside by counting the lifted Tacomas with telling stickers on the back window are in the parking lot.
Physical Fitness: I’ve had 31 surgeries since 2008. Big ones that effect fitness are right shoulder and right hand being rebuilt. Lower back fusion, right hip replaced and left hip femur dead and collapsed. Finally been able to run again and just knocked out 18 minutes with no…
First chapter of my book “Being Spec Ops” talks how to SOF guy. First buy big lifted truck and slap a punisher sticker on the window. Ball cap + flag. Action Casual attire = moisture wicking polo, nice outdoor pants, outdoor shoes, sleeve tattoos and Patagonia jacket.

@jackMurphyRGR
, any updates to this story? You posted this a month after you wrote your report about me. The same day you posted this; the Daily Mail published an article smearing me based on yours. I was then in 12+ other tabloids based on your report
Expect to hear more about this story in the future. The stuff that goes on in these commands is absolutely surreal. There is a chasm between what gets said publicly (in the latest Special Warfare magazine) and what is done behind closed doors.
I’m going to start a clothing brand called POG Style that looks a lot like Grunt Style but comes with shoulder pads and gut spandex to make us has beens a look more dangerous and awesome.
@Gruntstyle
For those not in on the joke, this wasn’t actually stuffed with tampons. You would have to be tuned into the great tampon trauma medicine drama of 2023 to get the joke.
#tampongate
Don’t force me to play a game against my will and then turn around, ignoring the board when you aren’t winning. The game will continue even with you ignoring it. I didn’t ask to play this game
@JackMurphyRGR
. You sat me in this chair. Its your game and the music is still playing.
I got to the bottom of this one, everyone stand down. Apparently when they told him to initiate a FLPL he filled out one of these miscellaneous forms at CIF. All makes sense now.
Imagine being a full grown man and being excited by cooking.
Not war.
Not conquest.
No. You get adrenaline from making an omelette.
Fucking nerd.
Chefs are worms.
OMG WHAT IF THE MEATS OVER DONE OMG 😮
Who cares.
Hardly getting knocked out is it.
Confession: it’s been a tough three weeks for me. My retirement date is set for Feb 2025. A few weeks ago I had to complete my required cyber awareness training. I realized it’s the last one I’ll do. It’s the one piece of training that’s ensured my success over the years.
First 3 mile run since my hip replacement knocked out on the San Antonio Riverwalk this morning. Embarrassingly slow but conducted with zero pain. Now it’s time to go do some cool shenanigans at Grunt Style with
@StolenValor1
.
You can be proud of what you’ve done. I’m proud that I was an Infantryman for 3 1/2 years. I’m proud that I made it into Special Forces and deployed around the world for the last 22 years. I can be proud of that and not think I’m better than everyone and be and arrogant prick who…

“If you truly believe that you’re an unstoppable force of nature in life, then you will be.” It’s so important that stories like Chuck Ritter’s are shared. These are the guys fighting, bleeding,…
I kid you not; this is in the letter I got from Murphy today. It's the best part of the entire letter. I'll post the whole thing tomorrow. This has been the best thing to happen this month.
You know, terrorism wasn’t even ever an issue until some of yall started putting beans in chili. That’s what started it. Y’all did that. Same group of people that did us dirty with the toilet paper at the start of COVJD. Stop putting beans in chili. You are literally letting the…
I’m an E9. Im the POGest of POGs. It comes with the rank. People trying to insult me calling me a POG is interesting as that’s just what I am. It would be like saying “you must be a human being!” It’s not an insult if you are calling someone what they are. POG life for life!
@TwoRulesOfWar
@FunkerActual
Very lucky angle. Bullet lodged in the lower back near the spine. Still crashed in the OR a few times due to blood loss. It took them a week of transfusions to get me stable enough to fly to Germany.
On the comments in a few of the posts on my timeline:
- Never been in JSOC, not at that level of awesomeness
- Never been a Command Sergeant Major
- 3 x PHs due to being blown up, and then taking 3 x PKM round in 13 and 1 x PKM round in 14 assaulting into crew served positions.
The amount of people that want to think I’m Scott Ritter constantly is disturbing. Has critical thinking really degraded this far? The words Scott and Chuck look nothing alike, we look nothing alike, we don’t share the same hobbies or criminal record. I don’t get it.
I think
@Shadzey1
was correct. There is a straight up pandemic of Kmart Andrew Tates out there, and they are spreading like wildfire.
It’s odd they think being disrespectful toward women, being racist and acting like an asshole somehow places them in a higher class.
A lot of people are making fun of this. We do the same and as Green Berets but the medics also always carry six pounds of wieners. They also perfectly fit into bullet holes quite nicely. Everyone keeps two in their blowout kit as well. When the tampons run out, plug with these.
Unpopular opinion. I went to JRTC as an Infantryman and twice as a Green Beret. I always had a great experience there. It was always brutally hot and extremly physically demanding but I always felt there was incredible training value from everything we did there. Same with NTC.
It’s recently surprised people that I’m such a nerd. Yes, I’m into video games, table top games, DnD and have a large hobby room. I also have a race car, weapons, like to adventure, travel, host social events and help people with building projects. I balance it out.
Reflection: As a young Infantry PVT Ritter in Hawaii, 1998 I remember being incredibly confused as to why we would exercise for an hour on the grass at 0630 but the 1SG would lose his mind if you were on it at 0900. He would then make you exercise on the grass as punishment
I feel like I need to post this picture once a 1/4 to remind everyone to thank me for my service.
To those they keep asking “who sewed that flash on??” Obviously nobody. That’s why it looks like that.
There is some discourse about handling things privately or how none of this should be public drama etc.
Look, I didn’t publish an erroneous article on myself. I didn’t then put myself in 12+ other tabloids based on the original erroneous article. I didn’t choose to play this…
