A large number of young GMs have online cheating in their past. At least 3 young GMs from teams that medaled in the 2022 Olympiad have been banned for fairplay violations on ChessCom. Chess policymakers know this and won't invite them to tournaments

In 2016 there was another prep leak when the St Louis Chess Club posted a video with Fabi's prep on a visible laptop screen. GM Ian Rogers quit his job as a USCF reporter when they tried to make him downplay the leak in his articles. St Louis is a key USCF business partner.

Tata Steel tournament director Jeroen van den Berg says that inviting Hans Niemann was never an option. It will be interesting to see how many invitations to top tournaments Hans is able to secure, given that the ones featuring Magnus are unlikely to arrive.
