I don't know how other people feel about it but having Pyra and Mythra be in Smash while Rex and Nia got to be in Xenoblade 3 really feels like we got the best overall outcome for 2's main quartet.

You know, given how insane and obtuse fans can be with their theories/headcanons/etc. I think it shows what a wonderful job with their visual and implied storytelling that Monolith has done that Mio being Rex and Nia's daughter is as widely accepted as it is without confirmation.

I find myself being very hard on Xenoblade 3 at times, but considering how many contradictory principles its built on (being standalone and a sequel, talking about the future while celebrating nostalgia) the game deserves praise for working at all. It should be an absolute mess.

A really understated element to 1's character writing is the positive influence Fiora had on Shulk versus Zanza's spirit whispering in his ear. It was when she was absent that he most acted as the vessel Zanza wished for. Without her around, he'd surely submit like Arglas did.
