Thank you to the community for assisting us in identifying the suspect involved in an incident on 5/4. Nicholas Hosteter, a 25-year-old from Campbell, was identified & arrested in connection with this incident & an additional incident on 5/24.

This Memorial Day weekend, we urge everyone to stay safe by avoiding driving under the influence. We are grateful the occupants of this recent DUI collision were not critically injured, but this incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of impaired driving.
On 5/17, CPD responded to reports of a man firing a gun from his vehicle. The suspect, James Raymond Auvigne, 35, fled but was later located & arrested for willful discharge of a BB gun, assault, evading an officer, resisting arrest, & animal cruelty.

On 5/6/24 @ 2:17 AM CPD officers responded to 256 E. Hamilton Ave after calls of a group of men drinking, playing loud music, & the sound of gunshots. 2 men arrested for firearm charges, 1 with additional battery of a peace officer charges.
