The #Hwy17 Wildlife Crossing near Laurel Road is complete! More than 65K vehicles travel the highway per day. The region is also home to many wildlife including mountain lions, bobcats & deer. The new crossing will provide a safe passage for wildlife to cross under #Hwy17 .

Caltrans discovered a large 8-foot long bee hive in a cavity of a wooden sign post during bridge work on Hwy. 154 in Santa Barbara. The 40 thousand bees were safely removed to a commercial hive aided by beekeepers before being released to agricultural areas to pollinate crops.

On the #BigSur Coast: The southern closure of #Hwy1 has moved back to #RaggedPoint . Crews made progress today to address damage from winter storms including active & unstable slides, rockfall, & water & debris in the roadway. Crews will continue to work all daylight hours.

Highway 154 is closed from State Route 192 to the 154/246 Roundabout due to rockfall, mudslides and debris in multiple locations with slope failures above the highway. Caltrans maintenance and engineering forces are working to re-open the roadway. There is no estimate to open.
