Today my daughter completed her time assisting intake of Afghan refugees in the DMV and returns to the Midwest where she works to integrate African refugees into their new communities. I am sad that she left, but also astonished to have raised such a wonderful young woman. ❤️❤️❤️

According to the last @UNOCHA update, there is a field in #Tigray about 40 miles West of #Shire where 210,000 Tigrayan civilians sleep in the cold rain with empty stomachs. They are trapped and surrounded. They need food and decisive action, not statements. #EndTigraySiege

Instead of providing arms to any of the warring parties in the Ethiopian conflict, all countries must stop the flow of weapons, encourage a negotiated ceasefire, and come together to end ongoing abuses and hostilities – without preconditions – to enable a peaceful resolution.
