All BPS schools and District offices will be closed from Wednesday, September 28th through Thursday, September 29th due to Hurricane Ian. All school activities, events, and programs are canceled. At this time, no decision has been made regarding school on Friday, September 30th.
Athletes at Cocoa High were filled with excitement this morning, as they entered their newly transformed weight room.
Academy Sports & CAP Barbell generously donated approximately $75,000 worth of equipment to the school.

Update: The Brevard School Board voted 3-2 to implement an emergency policy of making face masks mandatory on school board property, including schools and school buses. Today’s decision goes into effect immediately.

Out of an abundance of caution, BPS has decided to close all schools and all district offices on Monday, November 9th. That means no school activates and BPS staff will not report to work. We will provide another update on Monday.
Brevard schools will remain closed to students for an additional week following spring break, at the direction of the state. Students will not return before Monday March 30.
UPDATE: Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has announced that K-12 schools statewide will remain closed until April 15. In response, Brevard Public Schools will be implementing its instructional continuity plan for students beginning Monday, March 30. Specific details will come soon.
Due to approaching Hurricane Idalia and potential high winds exceeding 35 mph, Brevard Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday, Aug. 30. Tropical Storm Warning is in effect. We do expect schools to reopen on Thursday, Aug. 31.

This morning we attended Cocoa High School’s Pep Rally to wish their football team good luck at the State Championship game! The pep rally was followed by a spirit walk to the busses. The entire school stood outside cheering goodbye to the players as they rode away! Good luck!

The School Board of Brevard Public Schools will increase the pay for school bus drivers by $5.00 per hour. The current starting pay of $15.00/hour will rise to $20.00/hour.
Each driver will see a $5.00/hour increase in salary regardless of their current hourly rate.

UPDATE: Brevard Public Schools has been identified as an "essential service" under the governor's stay-at-home order. Remote instruction, food service and support operations will continue. BPS continues to implement remote-work and social distancing practices with staff.
With the expectation that inclement weather could reach Brevard County this afternoon, all BPS after-school activities, athletics, and extracurriculars are canceled for today, January 9, 2024. BPS After School Care will remain open and operate on a normal schedule.
