Rich Hill on Trump’s tweet: “There was a mass shooting yesterday ... The focus, in my opinion, of the president is to be on the country, and not on moves that are made in a World Series game.”

OF Joc Pederson doesn't think whatever team wins the World Series this year should have an asterisk by its name. "They're not cheating their way to get there," he said.
The Philly fans are good at yelling "Cheater!" at Altuve, Bregman and Gurriel, who were there in 2017, and just booing the hell out of the rest of the Astros lineup.
How to get rich: Play shortstop for Dodgers, then strike gold in free agency.
Manny Machado (2019): $300 million.
Corey Seager (2021): $325 million.
Trea Turner (2022) $300 million.
Tom Seaver passed Monday from "complications of Lewy body dementia and COVID-19," according to the Hall of Fame. Sparky Anderson once said: “My idea of managing is giving the ball to Tom Seaver and then sitting down and watching him work.” RIP
Bernie Sanders called to talk. He's still spitting mad about the MLB plan to kill 42 minor league teams. As MLB and MiLB meet today, Sanders is clear: He's not looking for a compromise, with fewer dead teams. He wants MLB to kill the whole damn plan.
If your owner cries "small market," please refer him to the delirium inside and outside Petco Park, home to the team that plays in the fourth-smallest market in MLB.
In the Angels' first home game since the passing of Tyler Skaggs, on the night the Angels all wore Tyler Skaggs jerseys, and on the night Skaggs' mom threw out the first pitch, the Angels have thrown a no-hitter.
Kiké Hernández: “I still haven’t taken off my hat. I’ve put on my world champions hat, the one with the trophy on the back, backward to have the trophy on the front so every time I look in the mirror I see that little trophy.” From

Since this might be the last game at Dodger Stadium this season, just wanted to salute Justin Turner for taking time in the middle of every game to walk to the end of the dugout, meet that day's military hero, shake his hand, and give him a baseball.

The stories the Angels tell about Shohei Ohtani:
"MIZUHARA messaged BOOKMAKER 1 stating, “Have you seen the reports?” BOOKMAKER 1 responded, “Yes, but that’s all bullshit. Obviously you didn’t steal from him. I understand it’s a cover job .. MIZUHARA then responded, “Technically I did steal from him. it’s all over for me.” "
Shohei Ohtani: "I really like the team. I love the fans ... but, more than that, I want to win. I'll leave it at that."

This press conference was an absolute disaster for the Astros.
