On hearing of the bankruptcy of Birmingham City Council, we plan to offer them £250 to purchase Harborne. Harborne Parish once contained Smethwick, so we aim to restore the pre-1891 boundaries. We would then annex the remainder of Smethwick & rename the parish GREAT BEARWOOD

As part of 'Operation Gully' police forces are cracking down on the illegal smuggling of battered chips into Birmingham from the Black Country. Checkpoints have been set up on known smuggling routes, including Hagley Road in Bearwood and Birmingham Mainline Canal in Smethwick.

A new theme café is opening in Bearwood! An innovative tweak of the Japanese 'cat café' concept, the Goose Café will allow patrons the opportunity to watch, and play with, wild Canada Geese, in a relaxing environment, with a selection of drinks and hot and cold Canadian dishes.

This month marks 11 years since the subway under the Hagley Road at Bearwood was sealed off. The subway, which was also home to market stalls selling potions and trinkets, was deemed unsafe by the Council and has since been converted into a nuclear bunker.

#OnThisDay in 1905, Bearwood was besieged by a small herd of hares who had been disturbed by works relating to the widening of the Hagley Road. Some eyewitnesses claim the hares were seen wielding weapons. As a result, an edict was passed, banning all hares from Bearwood.

In Victorian In Victorian times, to keep the vice & corruption of Birmingham out, Bearwood used to have a fully functioning border forcefield. You can still see some of the remaining bollards. Here's a map showing where they were. We hope to use the Towns Fund to reinstate it.

Due to a recent incident at a child's birthday party in Bearwood, where, due to a misunderstanding, a group pf 11 years olds were each handed a bottle of poppers (amyl nitrate) rather than party poppers, we've decided to launch a new campaign.

Could this be a Banksy? This mural has appeared in the alleyway by Thimblemill and cleverly combines a bosom shape with two bolts protruding from the door. The integration of physical objects into an art piece has all the hallmarks of a Banksy.

Despite the changing government position on this, Bearwood Council remains committed to introducing seven recycling bins (plastic, glass, paper, bacon, sex toys, explosives & feelings). Space is obviously an issue, so residents will be issued with these innovative stacking bins.
