Two @BeAirForce #F16 broke the sound barrier this morning after they were retasked by #CRC Beauvechain to investigate a 'Loss of Communication' incident with a civilian airplane. Although they were at 36,000 feet (12 km) when cleared supersonic, the boom was heard on the ground.

Belgium increased its participation in the MRTT- Fleet by ordering through the NATO NSPA agency one additional A330-200 MRTT. This follows Belgium's decision to increase its number of hours in the programme to 2,100. Currently 36 @BeAirForce personnel are based in Eindhoven (NL).

On thursday, july 30th, the first 🇧🇪 @BeAirForce #A400M #Atlas has executed its maiden flight at the @AirbusDefence facility in Seville. The aircraft performed a full Production Aircraft Test Manual (PATM) flight test profile in the late afternoon. CU soon @15WAirTransport !

Monday 5 February, a huge #ANTONOV AN-124 aircraft will land at Beauvechain Air Base. This cargo aircraft will transport 2🇧🇪 #NH90 #Caiman helicopters to Mali, where they will be deployed as part of #UnitedNations Munisma mission to restore stability in the Sahel Region.

@BeAirForce #F16 's currently deployed near #NATO ’s North-Eastern border have successfully intercepted some Russian aircraft today, amongst which a powerful Sukhoi #SU35 ‘Flanker’. Our pilots and ground personnel did a great job, safeguarding the European NATO airspace once again.
