Creative Director @ Raccoon Logic. Also Journey to the Savage Planet, Far Cry 4, Assassin's Creed 3, Army of TWO: 40th Day, Spore, Sims 2 etc. 🇦🇺in Canada.
Streamers worried about getting their content pulled because they used music they didn't pay for should be more worried by the fact that they're streaming games they didn't pay for as well. It's all gone as soon as publishers decide to enforce it.
Before/after of Corridor's latest AI video is wild. They shot video on greenscreen, made virtual sets in Unreal, then reskinned it to anime by finetuning Stable Diffusion. Net result? 120 VFX shots done by a team of 3 on a dime. Bravo! This is a milestone in creative technology🧵
The real truth is the streamers should be paying the developers and publishers of the games they stream. They should be buying a license like any real business and paying for the content they use.
Amazing to me that people are upset at someone saying that the creators of content should be allowed to make some of the money from other people using their content for profit.
In a bizarre studio closure and layoff message to staff, Possibility Space owner Jeff Strain blamed the studio closure on employees leaking information to the press.
The optional ending to Far Cry 4 where you can complete the ‘goal’ of burying your mother without having to murder thousands of people just by waiting in the game’s first room when Pagan Min makes the offer to help you...
Hey, uh, Twitter people. I really recommend watching the Game Awards tonight from the very very start at 5:30PST because reasons. Right from the start. 😶
A note for the people wondering why Game Company X can't repeat what it achieved on Game A and has instead made Game B... if it's more than 5 years between A and B, there are probably few people still working there from the original game. Company X isn't company X anymore at all.
This is an absolute disgrace
@australian
. Regardless of politics, mocking children for working for positive change is the most shameful thing I've ever seen in Australian media. Issue an immediate apology. Even Fox news apologized for this yesterday. Subscription cancelled.
9. Finally admit that today, years after it was released, it was okay to change the color of Connor's sash from the crimson red of Ezio and Altair to a nice royal blue, and that it really wasn't worth having seven two hour meetings about.
7. Notice that we cast the fantastic
@TheNoahWatts
as Connor, well before the internet of videogames gave a shit about respecting other cultures and we have characters speaking historically appropriate languages (+sub titles) in a blockbuster FOR A GODDAMN HOUR. That made happy.
Three years from standing with
@rws360
in an empty local studio to holding a printed and finished game in our hands! So much love for the team
@Typhoon_MTL
and everyone who helped us along the way. Can’t wait to see people playing it in the wild!
@JFrankensteiner
A corruption of Churchill replying to a woman accusing him of being drunk: 'I may be drunk, miss, but in the morning I will be sober and you will still be ugly.'
@SiddhantAdlakha
Actually the Lost producers were so certain that they were going to get cancelled the spent almost their entire budget on the first episode in a gamble to get renewed based on initial big ratings. The game has always been the same, only the metrics change.

He thinks all the anger comes from fake accounts and bots, but it is the other way around. You can't claim bots when it is a crowd of real people.
@ZerodsWorkshop
Most of the time playing the game just helpsl the streamer. People tune in to watch their ‘show’ which is built on content they didn’t pay for. If their show requires game content, then a percentage of their revenue should go to the game they used.
3. Create a path to force more of the Homestead side missions earlier: They feature the charming, fun and more human version of version of Connor that is not as obvious if you only play the main missions and ignore the side content.

The sad answer for Americas problem in the ways you list is that not enough people at the top end pay enough taxes and then the average person gets poor services.
Haha it’s Epic! The internet will detonate. Call your kids home from school until the troubles pass. This is going to be amazing to watch. There just isn’t enough popcorn in the world.
This is a very Microsoft story: Double Fine makes Psychonauts. Microsoft agrees to publish Paychonauts. MS cancels Psychonauts. DF finds other people to publish Psychonauts. DF makes Psychonauts 2. Starbreeze agrees to publish it. Starbreeze goes bang. MS buys DF for Psychonauts.
11. I'm adding this one to agree with
@GameAnim
we should have broken up Haytham's intro into chunks and interspersed them throughout the game to get to Connor faster. The shock reveal of another playable character was great, but the start was too slow.
6. Highlight that it's the AC game with by far the most assassination moves: you can get a custom assassination with every weapon in the game, including all pick ups.
1. Take the damage volumes off the fires in the final mission so people don't fail it and finish the sequence with a bad taste. It's too hard for no real reason.
For those game dev folks who ever made it out to Gamescom in Germany, just saw this photo on the BBC. Poor Cologne. I had dinner so many times there: the river banks are usually on the other side of that tree line with restaurants on the right. :(
Curious to see how The Last of Us 2 (which looks great) can make the idea that violence is repulsive mesh with the fact that it's presumably still a pretty central mechanic to crawl around and kill things.
5. Somehow, somehow make sure every person who buys the game sees the animation sequence where a homesteader gets a pig, puts it on a chopping block, cuts each limb off, skins it, packs them up and takes them inside. It's amazing.
Battle Royals is not a game type, it’s a game mode, like death match. It’s easy to build on top of virtually any shooter you already have. It’ll be shipping by default CoD and BF and every other online shooter within a year.

@andydiggle
When teaching me long stitch my grandma would turn everything over and if the back wasn’t as neat as the front she would just shake her head sadly. Vicious woman. Vicious.
2. Force the completion of the Temple missions in the present day as they trigger instead of letting them stack up at the end. I thought it would be nice to give players options, but it actually just ruins the pacing at the end.
Typhoon Studios devs launch new Montreal studio and secure Savage Planet rights from Google after departing now-defunct Stadia Games and Entertainment team
4. Push more of the naval encounters in the main flow. Again, my preference for letting players engage with the content at their own pace doesn't work as well in a blockbuster. Make the masses play the cool boat missions! ;)
I've been making games as a designer or creative director for far too long now at lovely places like Maxis, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and most recently our own brand spanking new boutique game developer, Typhoon Studios.
#MeetTheDev
Ah I see the sad Stadia trolls have risen from their graves to tweet anew! So for posterity: our company was at stadia for about a year and the acquisition was an enormous financial and technological win for our whole team. We have lots to announce and our day was absolutely A+.
Nobody will ever be able to convince me that any game ever has sold a single extra copy through celebrity cross over. But I’ve seen it proven a hundred times that it costs you a lot of money. Just obsessed with burning cash at some companies.
@GillianBNews
You'll be dead before the teacher puts her glasses on, wanders to the wall, pulls it out, tries to get the attention of the kids, drags them all in, realizes she didn't lock it... just ban the guns, America. This is ridiculous. And embarrassing.
Nobody in the office will let me call our upcoming additional content the 'Hot Garbage DLC' even though it's narratively perfect. They have no souls here. None.
It's official! A bunch of the old Typhoon guys and some glorious new faces are back making games again at our new studio, Raccoon Logic. Trash pandas across the globe rejoice, and we'll be talking about some new projects soon! Check out some stuff at !
Between the retro review dumping of the Borderlands franchise for its Epic Store exclusivity and the review pumping of AC Unity because Notre Dame burned down, its time to admit user reviews were always a terrible, awful very bad idea and end it forever. Think of the children.
@MitchyD
Then ask me the question, Mitch! You were a journalist. A side tweet is not the way to engage meaningfully or earnestly with a topic. Nobody is safe when that is the way a discussion is initiated.
Here’s another: Ensemble makes Age of Empires. MS buys Ensemble. MS cancels Age of Empires and closes Ensemble. MS opens new studio to make Age of Empires.
@MitchyD
Hopefully if you look at the team you see a hugely talented group of people with a strong track record who managed to create an environment with zero crunch on the last game who want to grow and make cool software.
12. Oh! And while we were searching for music, somehow make sure we would find A Tribe Called Red. They would have been perfect. A missed opportunity on many levels.
Ah, yes. The dream of procedural content generation. Even BioWare went through several iterations of this: "what if we didn't need every conversation to be bespoke?" Unlimited playtime with dialogue being procedurally created alongside procedural quests!
