Today we celebrate Dennis Chojnowski’s last day working for the City of Baltimore. Dennis has dedicated 46 years to the City, starting at @BaltimoreDPW in Highway Reconstruction in the mid-1970s. Dennis ends his tenure in DGS’ Capital Projects division as an engineer.

In FY-2018 the Baltimore War Memorial had approximately 80,247 visitors to the building and 462 bookings. A 14.5% increase in visitors from FY-2017 and 25.9% increase in bookings. We are making our buildings as helpful and accessible as possible for the public. @WMAIBaltimore

Little lights, BIG savings 💡 DGS’ Energy Office is currently installing LED lighting at the Montebello Infiltration Plant located at 3901 Hillen Rd. With these new fixtures, we’ll help save the City 1.95 million kWh of electricity and $205k per year!

DGS got to spend the last 2 days with the students of @JHMuseumStudies Seeing them work and present their findings on ways @ThePeale can grow as an cultural space in Baltimore. They came up with innovative ideas to reinvent the Peale as more than a museum. #jhumuse @JHUeducation

Today, DGS is highlighting John Albert Burr who was born in Maryland in 1848 to enslaved parents. He worked as a field hand where he found he had a penchant for mechanical engineering. #BlackHistoryMonth
