We are receiving numerous calls from residents, mainly in the central & western areas, of a strong odor of smoke. Maryland is feeling the effects of the wildfires in the Virginia area. There is no major fire event in the County or surrounding region. EA
This morning when responding to a 2-alarm fire in the 200block of S. Stricker Street, firefighters were inside battling a fire in a 3 story vacant rowhome. While doing so, a partial collapse occurred a four members were trapped inside.
Crews remain at the scene of a 3-alarm fire in Reisterstown. Investigators have determined arson as the cause, & one adult male is in custody. The brave fire lieutenant who was hurt was released from the hospital; we thank all of the emergency personnel for their response. TF

The new Tower 17 has been delivered to Fire Supply in Glen Arm! . This state-of-the-art, $1.5 million unit replaces a 2004 rear mount tower. Crews are set to begin training on Tower 17 shortly; the unit is slated to go in service in December.

Update, dump truck crash, I-95 SB near Rosedale: We are aware that several civilians who were driving on I-95 played a crucial role in rescuing the driver from the burning truck. Thanks to their bravery, the driver escaped with non life-threatening injuries. EA

A total of 3 cars were destroyed after a fast spreading fire occurred on a 5th floor parking level of Towson Town Mall Tuesday morning. Hazmat crews assisted with a fuel spill caused by the fire. No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation. TF
