Not having sports has really messed with me as a sports broadcaster... so I decided to do some real life play-by-play
If this gets 20 likes Iβll make another π€
Here's New Boston being introduced ... in Ohio uniforms? Due to a mixup, the Tigers are wearing Bobcats jerseys in the game. Both New Boston and South Webster brought white jerseys to The Convo. An interesting sight! (Love the handshakes in the intro!)

For the first time ever, KCU beats Georgetown in their first ever night game in Grayson! Eric Parra with the game winning 25 yard field goal as time expires.
Some life news - Iβm stepping down as Sports Director at
@Mytowntvhd
and moving to Dallas, Texas in October 1st. Iβm thankful for those of you Iβve met over the last 4 years and will forever cherish the memories weβve made! More below β¬οΈ
Decided last August I was going to make my mental health a priority and stop running from my problems or using drugs and alcohol to cope with them.
Today I went to therapy for the last time, my therapist and I both agreed I was in a good place.
Iβm happy to finally be happy!π
Keep my baby in your thoughts and prayers. She has been in the hospital since Sunday and just found out she has to be put on dialysis. She has been so strong and is going to keep fighting. She has been a light in my life and I am so grateful for her. Love you baby we got thisπͺβ€οΈ
It has been a very difficult and emotional last 3 months. Lately Ebony has spent more time in the hospital than at home with me. Today she was admitted to the ICU. Please keep us in your prayers and send good vibes our way. I know we will get through this together πβ€οΈ
Loved seeing Ashland grad
@mykasa_baller23
shine on a big stage last night! Though Louisville fell short, Mykasa played great! 12 minutes, went 3-for-3 from the field for 6 total points, and had an assist, steal, and block per ESPN. Keep working hard, we're all rooting for you!
Life comes full circle sometimes.
One year from the day that
@PaetowFootball
had their playoff run halted and season cancelled due to COVID concerns, the Panthers win an OT thriller over College Station to win the 5A D1 state title.
@katyisd
Full recap:
The comeback Colonels do it again! A three-pointer from Travis Henderson with 1.9 seconds remaining gives Oldham County a 56-55 lead. The prayer from Campbell County is unanswered, and the Colonels are going to the final four!
@OldhamEraSports
Iβm not sure why my Mom did this for me, but over the years she compiled a folder of quotes she thought I would like. Maybe itβs just the writer in both of us but we always appreciated an inspirational quote. Finding these hit hard, but I want to share one with you all each day:
Today is my last day working as the full-time Sports Director at My Town TV.
Thanks to everyone who has supported me during this time. Big shoutout to those of you who also watched and followed
@SpicinUpSports
as well. Appreciate you all making the last year and a half memorable
I posted this on my personal account but thought some could benefit from it on here as well.
Iβve been using alcohol and drugs to cope with internal problems since I was a teenager. Iβm saying this because I want to hold myself accountable. I donβt want to do this anymore.
I love you all, forreal. Thank you for all your encouraging words and support during this tough time. I appreciate each and every one of you more than you know!
I hope whoever my next replacement is at My Town TV will do their part in covering ALL sports. I have tried my hardest to give each and every sport as much recognition as possible during my time here and I hope that is continued! I will miss all my kids from football to XC.
I swear I've never seen a county or community rally around a school like Scioto County and Portsmouth has this Wheelersburg football team. It's so awesome seeing all the other schools and athletes of the area wishing the Pirates the best. As they say, no place like home!
ATHLETES - You can impact the game and your team in more ways than one.
I loved watching
@BrandeisVB08
SR. Ella Chapman fire her team up in their state final match ... whether her team was losing or winning, she was up celebrating every point.
@CoachMMWilliams
on her impact:
Some highlights I shot from
@BurgFball
's 21-14 OT state title victory over Eastwood today. (Man, that "We Ready" chant really makes you want to strap on a helmet yourself)
My Pap went to be with the Lord this evening. From building my love for college football to teaching me how to fish, but more importantly how treat others with kindness and how to work hard - thereβs no question he impacted my life more than he knew. RIP and thanks for the prayer
I am highly disappointed with the many displays of open racism in Grayson today and those who condoned it. One of the most shameful days in our area of the state that I can remember. Itβs hard to remain optimistic but I hope that we can learn from this and just be better for once
Sure going to miss all of you. Thanks to each and every one of you that has followed along and supported me along the way. I will always have a special place in my heart for this tri-state area and hope that I have been able to shed a positive light on our communities and kids
I love many things about my job. One thing I hate is seeing the career of high school seniors come to a close - especially great kids like Savannah Wheeler and Graci Borders. You two have set an incredible standard for Boyd County basketball and are terrific individuals as well.
I think Johnathan Mumphrey of
@Championship7v7
described C-Stat's
@HuffJett
the best, so I wanted to use his quote over top of some of Jett's throws I've captured this year. Haven't got to see a lot of the team, but every time I do I come away impressed. He's a great QB & leader!
Saturday marked the end of high school sports season in my first year as a sports reporter/broadcaster. As most of you guys know, I like making videos ... so I decided to put together a compilation of some of my favorite moments. (The full video can be seen on my Facebook)
UNDEFEATED NO MORE!
Campbell County knocks off John Hardin 61-60. Bulldogs were 35-0 entering the state tournament. John Hardin had some looks at the horn, but couldnβt get a shot to fall.
The
#2
player in the 2019 class Charles Bassey (
@charles_bassey_
) was every bit as good as advertised in an Aspire Academy win today at Portsmouth HS. I caught up with Bassey after the game:
Boyd County senior
@savwheeler4
recognized prior to Tuesdayβs game against Russell for being a McDonaldβs All-American High School Basketball Team nominee.
Thanks to everyone for the well wishes. To say it means the world and I wouldnβt be who I am today without your allβs support, especially in these last two months, would be an understatement. Grateful to have met and talked with all of you and I will still be following along!
Just so weβre clear on why I cover Ohio teams even if I work in Ashland: I started my career in Portsmouth and Iβm still very close to many of the kids/coaches. A good majority of people from Scioto County still follow me. It really wouldnβt make sense to completely start over.
Got rear ended today, found out my grandpa is in the hospital, and I have oral surgery tomorrow. Not a fun 24 hours.
Iβll be straight, but please keep my Pap in your prayers π
Been really down today and this is probably the lowest Iβve ever felt about myself. Trying to stay positive because I know better days are ahead ππ»
Russell's Madison Darnell and Ashland's Mykasa Robinson (
@mykasa_baller23
) are presented with the 16th Region Player of the Year award at halftime of today's Mercer County/Owensboro Catholic game. Congratulations!
@16th_Sports
@DIndependentQB
Tbh Iβm kinda offended by the ESPN announcer using β606 by gawdβ completely out of context in the Auburn game last night. You ainβt really from these mountains.... You probably donβt even know what an Ale-8 is π€
#ReallyFromThe606
One of my favorite parts about this area is when a local sports team makes a run in the state tournament we all (for the most part) put our differences aside and root for that team. Doesnβt matter if theyβre our rivals or not, we just want to see someone from our area doing great
@BSpicerTV
Your missing the point. You canβt use the small school βHoosiersβ reference as if itβs something special when a team is playing with other teams players.
The year is 2036. We are still making up high school basketball games from the 2017-18 season. It's still snowing outside. Nobody knows their records or stats anymore, they're just trying to get to the end of the season. Where am I? Who am I? Who really knows?
Ashland senior
@_33devaunte33_
talks being 16th Region champion among other things following the Tomcats win over Boyd County this afternoon. Ashland will face the region 3 champion Wednesday night at Rupp Arena
For the record Iβm not going to βstick to shitty ass local sports.β I have a platform to stand up for what I believe in and Iβm gonna use it. Donβt like it? Donβt rock with me anymore because I definitely donβt wanna be associated with you βπ»
Man.. I really took a chance moving to Texas and to Dallas a couple months ago. Iβm so glad I did. So fortunate for the opportunity Iβve been given and whatβs ahead βΌοΈ Just know Iβm really out here!!!
Sunday is gonna be tough...first Motherβs Day without my Mom. I know sheβs looking down and is proud of what Iβve been able to accomplish over the last year, but it definitely still feels weird not sending her the links to listen to my play by play commentary or watch my videos.
Momβs quote book day one: βWhen one door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one that has opened for us.β - Helen Keller

go back-to-back in a dominate 74-34 win over Mercy in the state championship earlier today. Mercer County turned the title game into a three-point shootout, draining 16 threes in the game (twelve in the first half). Congrats to the Titans!
Of course I had to catch up with

Wheelersburg QB Trent Salyers (

HIGHLIGHTS: Campbell County was impressive in their 82-65 win over University Heights this afternoon. The Camels will play the Oldham County/McCracken County winner on Friday!

Boyd County basketball HC Randy Anderson recaps the hard-fought loss at the hands of Fern Creek (69-67 in OT) and talks about the outstanding season the Lions enjoyed this year. Boyd County finished 29-7 overall, and 20-2 in the 16th Region. What a ride!
I think I speak for everyone in media when I say I LOVE high school teams that are active on social media. Makes our jobs 10 times easier and is so much fun from an engagement standpoint for us and the kids/fans
