Last week, we were honored to host our own PGY4 Melissa Koci at weekly Grand Rounds where she shed light on a much needed, under presented topic: the emotional impact of being a surgeon.

Baylor College of Medicine won the Surgical Jeopardy challenge at the18th Annual Academic Surgical Congress. Surgery residents Dr. Samuel Creden and Dr. Jorge Portuondo challenged other teams from across the nation in a friendly game of Surgical Jeopardy and were victorious.

Youmna Sherif, M.D., global surgery resident at Baylor College of Medicine, was selected for an AMA Journal of Ethics Editorial Fellowship. She will develop and edit a complete issue for the AMA Journal of Ethics, which will focus on surgical care for incarcerated patients.
