Here's the video where DA Willis said:
I don’t need anything from a man, a man is not a plan, a man is a companion. The only man who’s ever foot my bill completely is my daddy.
There’s a quick break right now before the jury is brought in.
There will be closing arguments and then the jury will be given directions.
I’ll update you on the timeline when it all becomes more clear.
Ran out of court for a quick live shot with the news that Rudy Giuliani will not testify in the defamation trial against him.
Right now, details are being worked out with attorneys, then the jury will enter at 10.
I’ll update you with new details when there’s another break.
Good morning everyone.
It appears as if Rudy Giuliani has decided not to testify in the defamation case against him.
If this changes throughout the morning, I’ll update you.
Here’s me asking him yesterday if he still planned on testifying…
NY Civil Fraud Case: And this appears to be the response from Justice Engoron regarding the request to submit a counter- judgement. Engoron appears to be shooting down the request.
Ok folks….
The jury is now deliberating in the defamation case against Rudy Giuliani.
The decision must be unanimous.
Lunch has been ordered for all 8 jurors, so they will be working through lunch.
So it was a note from the jury.
They wanted access to a PowerPoint & report from an expert who testified it would take $17M - $47M to repair Freeman & Moss’ reputation.
The judge told the jury they are not allowed to have that info b/c it was not admitted into evidence.
Gottlieb: "Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss are miles away from ordinary, they are heroes."
Gottlieb also said his clients testified, "Unlike some other people" who did not testify under oath.
That was most likely a reference to Giuliani, who chose not to testify in his defense.
Gottlieb pointed out the discrepancy in statements between Giuliani and his attorney, Joseph Sibley.
In opening statements, Sibley said the plaintiffs are good people who did not deserve what happened to them, but Giuliani said this to members of the media just hours later.
JUST IN….
The courtroom deputy says there is a verdict in the defamation case against Rudy Giuliani.
I am now heading back inside the courtroom.
I am not allowed to have my phone inside. I will update you as soon as I get more details.
NY Civil Fraud Case: Counsel for defendants ask court to give them time to submit a "counter judgement" vs than $355M fine+ interest.
"To deprive Defendants of the opportunity to submit a proposed counter-judgment would be contrary to fundamental fairness and due process."
The plaintiffs are asking the jury to award Freeman and Moss $24M each for damage to their reputation.
The jury will be able to award additional money (for example in emotional and punitive damages).
Good morning everyone.
Jury selection begins today in the defamation case against Rudy Giuliani.
Ga. election workers, Ruby Freeman and Shay Moss sued him for defamation.
I’ll be inside the courthouse today following this case.
Gottlieb: The law makes it clear that Giuliani is responsible for the acts of the co-conspirators. Gottlieb said Giuliani can't point a finger at others
In closing arguments, defense attorney Joseph Sibley referenced the plaintiffs' expert who said it would take between $17M - $47M to rehabilitate Freeman and Moss' reputation.
He asked the jury to consider more concrete figures.. i.e., lost wages over say - a 10 yr period.
Alright...
Here are some highlights during closing arguments from both sides.
Michael Gottlieb delivered the closing arguments for the plaintiffs, Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss.
Sibley: I know these women have been harmed. Remember, this is a man who did great things.
Sibley also told the court to judge Giuliani on the content of his entire character and not this moment.
No major comments from Giuliani as he left court just moments ago.
I asked him if it was a mistake not to testify.
“We don’t talk about a case while the jury is out,” Giuliani responded.
Good morning everyone.
Jury deliberations continue at 9 in the defamation case against Rudy Giuliani.
I’ll be inside the courtroom and will update you when I can.
Here’s a look at the jury note from earlier today, where members of the jury asked if the PowerPoint and report from an expert could be provided to them.
This expert testified that it would take $17M - $47M to repair damages done to Ruby Freeman and Shaye Moss’ names.
Good morning everyone.
We’re in Fulton Co. Ga. for a key hearing regarding DA Fani Willis.
A judge will consider if she should be disqualified from continuing with this case, because of her personal relationship w/ a prosecutor she hired.

Happening Now:
Fmr. Pres. Donald Trump is speaking inside a NY courtroom in the civil fraud trial against him.
This is significant, b/c Judge Engoron had said Trump would NOT be able to speak, b/c Trump didn't want to agree to certain conditions, i.e. sticking to the script.
Classified Docs Case: Judge Aileen Cannon grants Jack Smith's request to limit co-defendants Walt Nauta and Carlos De Oliveira's ability to see classified info.
When asked by the judge, Giuliani admitted that he made those statements, but did not realize that he was allowed to do so.
For context, different court orders have different restrictions, some limit comments about all parties, others a more narrow.
Just In: New Mexico's AG will not prosecute people who are accused of being fake electors, because the law (as written), doesn't allow it.
He also has suggestions on how to prevent this in the future.
