I have had my “glory days in the hot sun” and now it’s time to come home. Thank you everybody for following along on Expedition 56’s journey living on
@Space_Station
. I hope you continue to follow
@NASA
as we explore the great depths of space for the benefit of humanity.
Welcome home

during the Field Test experiment...I hope the newly returned crew feels a lot better. Video credit

It is easy to see the activity on Hawaii’s
#Kilauea
Volcano from
@Space_Station
. We hope those in the vicinity of the eruption can stay out of harm’s way.
Special thanks to the crew of Expedition 55 and 56 for their support and participation in our human space exploration mission. I am ever thankful for the support of my family, friends, and colleagues…love is all around us and we are all around the world.
We can still see the Earth’s fury from
@Space_Station
as the lava continues to flow from
#Kilauea
.
Expedition 56 is thinking of Hawaii as the dynamic Earth continues to evolve.
It’s been a while since we’ve checked in on
@astro_ricky
and the plants he’s growing here on
@Space_Station
. Anyone else growing the same plants on Earth right now?
Living on
@Space_Station
presents many exciting and challenging opportunities. I thought I would demonstrate how living in zero gravity effects our everyday tasks in a “How To with Drew” series. First up, how to brush your teeth!

I'd like to join people around the world who are commemorating those whose lives were lost. Petr Ginz, a Czech boy who perished at Auschwitz, brilliantly depicted how the Earth would look from the Moon in this illustration.
Glad to see that the rain held off for

@ScuderiaFerrari

The track

11 years ago we landed Atlantis in California after the final servicing mission to the Hubble Space Telescope. Today, I wait at the Kennedy Space Center for the 1st launch of
@NASA_Astronauts
on the 1st new human-rated US spaceship since 1981.
Today we honor and remember a fallen colleague and hero who helped advance the human species out into space. Alan Bean inspired us all to be better, to be humble, and to strive to share the story of exploration and give our lives meaning. Rest In Peace Alan. Ad Astra.
5 hours packed into 30 seconds! Working hard on SPHERES, one of my favorite

experiments! SPHERES consists of 3 bowling-ball sized spherical satellites on board

that test a diverse range of hardware and software from scientists all over America.
This is

as viewed from the

Hello
#Montreal

The

The coolest part about riding a bike in space is that you don’t need a seat! We use the CEVIS for cardio workouts on
@Space_Station
. Since we don’t use our legs in space as much as we do on the Earth, the CEVIS bike helps us maintain our leg muscles.

As geophysicists,

Astronauts must have strong core muscles in order to move around in zero g. We also need core muscles to walk upright and balance ourselves when we return to Earth. That’s why we incorporate crunches into our workouts – they work the ab muscles & the obliques.

Today
@Space_Station
welcomed the Soyuz carrying Sergey Prokopyev
@Astro_Alex
and
@AstroSerena
. It was exciting to see them approach and we were happy to break bread at dinner. Expedition 56 is complete!
Earth is our spaceship &
@Space_Station
is just a traveling companion as we hurtle around the Sun together again & again. On this
#EarthDay
, I hope all inhabitants of our beautiful planet learn to see it without borders as we do. We all live out in space.
This is amazing. Most of the “video” images that are posted on social media are sped-up time lapse images. This video beautifully captures what

Hello Canada!🇨🇦 Couldn’t miss the photo of

Beautiful photo of the full moon late Friday evening as

The very last race I will enjoy from space will be

Last Thursday I captured Japan’s HTV-7 resupply vehicle using the
