It’s time to get to work!
The off-season is extremely close and this is the time to make that change!
You need a plan and we will build one designed just for you! Make that change this summer and come train with us!

If your hat falls off on every pitch, that might be a problem.
Sensory information influences movement. When your head is still you get good information & you move better. When you move better, you get good information.
Keep your head still!
ATHLETES! The RDL Impulse throwing exercise should be your best friend‼️
The RDL movement before the throw teaches the athlete to initiate a co-contraction of all the muscles around the hip and control the hinge as they move down the slope of the mound.
Looking for a tool to help protect your elbow? Check out the Grip Ripper‼️
The Grip Ripper is great for perturbing the forearm muscles and eliciting co-contractions in the first responders that protect the UCL!
Having trouble with a late arm action? Try this Soulja Boy drill⬆️
How does this drill work? The double hop helps keep the pelvis tilted and back leg engaged. By extending the arms forward we introduce time pressure which encourages the athlete to speed up their arm action‼️
HITTERS‼️ Check out this drill!
Walk In Basketball Swings
A great way to teach athletes how to sequence their lower half. The walk in prevents the back leg from becoming over active and pushing, while also teaching the center of mass to gain momentum during leg lift.
Lots of misinterpretation about the hinge. It’s a condition (co-contraction) not a position. Here’s one of the drills we’ve been prescribing in training:
ATHLETES! The RDL Impulse throwing exercise should be your best friend‼️
The RDL teaches the athlete to initiate a co-contraction of all the muscles around the hip and control the hinge as they move down the slope of the mound.
Hearing the words hip hinge all the time but not sure how to implement it? Check out how we introduce the hip hinge to our athletes‼️
Why is the hip hinge important? It is possibly the number 1 influencer of velocity and adjustability/command!
Pitchers! Add the Khaos Shoulder Shaker to your pre-throw/recovery routine. When shaking the ball through varying ranges of motion, the water creates an unstable stimulus for your shoulder creating co-contractions causing your muscles to work together to create stabilization.
Having trouble gaining weight?
Chances are you’re just not eating enough! If you’re a guy who needs to gain weight you need to consistently eat.
Two easy hacks we have to get your calories in whenever you can are smuckers uncrustables and fairlife protein shakes!
Stability 🌊
The calibrate chaos stability system is a tool we have our athletes use to enhance variability in their training and arm care exercises.
The unpredictability of the water sloshing inside enhances co-contractions by quickly reducing muscle slack.
(1/10) For any high-intensity athlete, the pelvis is the center of the universe. 3 universal attractors make up the "Holy Trinity" of Pelvic Control for pitchers/hitters: 1) Rotation Round Hip (Hinge),2) Hip-Lock At Toe-Off, 3) Form or Force Closure of the Pelvis
@FransBoschBook
Having trouble with your slide step? Then don’t!
The only guy on the field that starts the throw with their lead leg is the pitcher. Everyone else starts the throw by loading their back hip. When we load the back hip there’s no longer a need to slide step!
After a full body warm up we transition into a localized arm warm up focusing on getting blood to the tissue & muscles. We use an array of equipment from
@Oatesspecialty
and
@jaegersports
.
Here are a few exercises you should add to your pre-throw warm up ⬇️⬇️
3 days, very little sleep, lots of sore backs and legs, but we are up and running in out new, final location. 537 Laura Rd Lakeland Fl 33815. So proud of the incredible effort our team gave this weekend.
#SAVAGE
From 78 to topping 96. Let us introduce you to Tyson Hardin a long time athlete here at the ARMory. Tyson came to us in high school throwing side arm and was really just starting to pitch. By the time he left high school he had reached 88 and earned himself a JUCO offer.
Having trouble leaping off the mound? Try this ⬇️
The split stance action forces the athlete to create a co-contraction around the back hip, allowing them to put force into the ground longer, and ultimately rotate through the movement more efficiently! Give it a try‼️
Having trouble tucking your pelvis underneath you while you rotate?
The Double Hop Glove Side allows the athlete to feel his pelvis underneath his spine & hold the position longer down the mound. The better we can get at this the easier it is for our body to rotate efficiently!
Ever feel like you can’t get your arm synched up with your body? The throwing club is a tool we provide athletes with to clean up the arm action as it provides loud information to deficiencies such as the Inverted W or stabbing motion.
Things are moving along in the construction of our new ARMory site. Foundation is graded and ready for underground infrastructure and concrete. 20,000 square ft facility on a 3.5 acre lot. Exciting times here at The ARMory!
Dear High School Pitchers: Instead of throwing stuff out and hoping someone likes you, here's an idea ... Target 3 schools at every level, depending on your development. Dream big and do some research.
Command is another piece of the puzzle that we must consistently train. So what are these big rings for? This tool is called the V-FLEX. The V-FLEX changes the athletes perception of how to hit the strike zone through multiple stages of ball flight.
Guys with arm pain, this tools for you!
The Throwing sock provides awesome results for athletes with shoulder or elbow pain. We use a 7oz ball inside to slow the arm down but still reap the benefits of a full arm throw.
1/3 Control of the pelvis is 🔑
Pitching begins as a low-intensity activity, primarily involving the lower body, and then swiftly transitions to a high-intensity event.
The pelvis is the transition point that must provide a stable platform for launch.

Having trouble stabilizing your lead leg and pelvis? Try this⬇️
Why do we do this? It encourages pre tension in the lead leg which can allow slack removal with no delay upon landing!
Reaching with the lead leg? Try this ⬇️
Athletes often make the mistake of putting the hurdle too far away from them causing them to reach with their lead leg to get over the hurdle. Keep the hurdle CLOSE to you so you carry your middle over the hurdle and not just your leg‼️
FORD: Frontal, One leg, Rotational, Diagonal.
An acronym we use daily to develop our power workouts. We want our athletes to be able to create stability in these four categories so they can translate this to the mound.
Having trouble getting your chest out while rotating? Get rid of those old reverse throws and try them like this ⬇️
The myth that we need to achieve balance during reverse throws is overrated! Let’s work on getting our chest out while rotating instead‼️
FROM 69 MPH TO THE LOS ANGELES ANGELS, CAMDEN MINACCI‼️
Cam is one of our OG ARMory guys and has been with us since he was in 8th grade. It took him years to get where he is today.
As the season winds down, the perennial question emerges: "Should I shut it down or keep throwing?" Our CEO
@RandySullivanPT
offers a reasonable alternative and some practical guidance.
As the college and high school seasons crank up, remember, training never stops. Like when the waitress at a diner refreshes your coffee, keep doing the things that got you ready for the season. Stay healthy and consistent.

are great tools for training athleticism at any age. When this video was made, 11-year-old Cam weighed 66lbs. The bag is 22lbs. It's 1/3rd of his body weight & he dominates it - Rotational RDL with Hip Lock! The body cannot decide NOT to participate.

ATHLETES‼️ Protect your most valuable asset and check out this tool! The Shoulder Sphere is great to add to your warm up, post throw, or rehab programs.
The Shoulder Sphere strengthens the rotator cuff muscles and allows the user to put it through an array of motions.
We want to extend a huge congratulations to Jonah Scolaro (White Sox), Jordan Woods (Royals), and Hayden Wynja (Giants) on signing pro contracts!

Train in an environment that pushes you to find your inner SAVAGE! Add velo, improve command, eliminate arm pain and develop nasty stuff! We can't wait to see you this summer! (Sound On) Early Bird Discount thru April 15th.
Another awesome year at the ABCA with our friends at
@Oatesspecialty
!
This year
@RandySullivanPT
and
@ARMory_Alan
spoke on how to optimize your training using waterbags. It was great to reconnect and see so many friends in the industry!
Players that struggle with rotating, add this exercise to your plan!
SL Wall Rotations is a staple in our SAVAGE Training. By utilizing the Aquabag, the sloshing water emphasizes co-contractions throughout the abdominals creating core control and allows for quality force sharing
What a privilege it was to have the legendary
@16RobCooper
deliver an inspirational talk to our SAVAGE Winter Training players and parents today. "Don't be average, be a SAVAGE!" Telling the truth from a position of love. Thank you Coach Cooper! 🙏 👏👏👏
1/6 We've developed baseball players for over 15 years, and we’ve seen a lot. We’ve tried a lot.
For years it was all about running throws, turn and burns, or pulldowns. For over a decade we tracked our in-house data from thousands of pitchers.
We found no linear relationships
BLENDING 🌊 ⚾️
Something that can be very important in your drill work is blending throws between the waterball and the baseball. We tend to do this with a lot of our throwing drills.
Try blending your drills to get the most out of them!
One Bar Hops is a staple in our “Power” portion of workouts training many different aspects of movement. We love the unpredictable load above making the athlete move in multiple planes, creating pre-tension and training ankle stiffness. Lots of boxes checked off with this one! ✅
From low 80’s with no command to topping 92 and being lights out, let us introduce you to Alex Canney. This year Alex was Sunshine State Conference PITCHER OF THE YEAR and an ALL AMERICAN at D2 powerhouse University of Tampa‼️
BLENDING 🌊 ⚾️
Something that can be very important in your drill work is blending throws between the waterball and the baseball.
True transfer demands progression along the specificity continuum. Blending drills does just that!
Congratulations to the newest member of our 90 mph club, longtime

commit Christian Chatterton. Heavy sink, running/diving CH and 2 elite breaking balls for strikes. Kid is a stud!!
NO ICE?? Nope leave it for your soft drinks!
Check out what Randy has to say about avoiding ice in the recovery process.
Something we do for arm recovery instead is use Marc Pro to promote blood flow into the arm!
LOGAN GILBERT
The definition of what it means to be a professional. Every off-season Logan sets goals about where he wants to take his game and attacks them head on. Logan is an awesome dude to work with and we love working with him every off-season!
Front knee leaking forward? Spin the mound around and try this ⬇️
Uphill throwing can encourage pretension of the lead leg which leads to 0 delay in muscle slack removal!
Mix these in and get that lead leg right‼️
From overcoming an injury and struggling to get back on the mound, to topping 96 this year, let us introduce you to Dallas Baptist pitcher Cole Reeves‼️ Cole came to us dealing with thoracic outlet syndrome and was struggling to get back to his old self.
It’s always sweet seeing a college program go all in on Savage Training, but it’s even sweeter when they get to learn from an alum! This week we had The Citadel pitching staff stop in to learn from former Citadel player himself, Randy Sullivan‼️
In our 500 pitch
@newtforce
mound study a machine learning algorithm ranked 22 variables re: influence on velocity.
#1
was mass (up to about 180lbs).
#2
was Impulse (rearward GRF x time). Stride length was dead last. Jumping down the mound is a bad idea.
Week 1 of summer 2023 training is complete! These dudes crushed it all week.
In week 1 these guys underwent an in depth evaluation in order to determine the right plan of attack for them this summer. Excited to see the results of their hard work pay off!
We might need to reevaluate throwing 0-2 “waste” or “set up” pitches. Nearly every amateur pitcher throws one “aw crap” pitch per AB.
Start aiming for the middle of the zone (you probably won’t hit it). One pro team reported 88% of center cut pitches went in their favor!
IF YOU’RE JUICELESS YOU’RE USELESS‼️ Nobody brings as much energy as the ARMory guys on VELO DAY!
We meet every athlete where they’re at, it doesn’t matter if you’re going for 65 or 95 our guys always bring the juice!
The best mound in baseball, and we have it‼️Check out our NewtForce sensor mound! This mound is able to measure ground forces in all 3 directions while synchronizing video feed from 2 high speed cameras!
