Thanks @Ria_Martin and @11AliveSports for the story. Organized sports gave me some of my favorite memories as a kid and it’s a bummer to see these youth sports seasons wiped out. Whatever we can do to brighten kids’ days and make them feel big-time.

Jose Alvarado told me he idolized Chris Paul growing up and watched CP3 mixtapes before games. He became the first player to lead the ACC in steals in back-to-back seasons since Paul. He’s now set to face CP3 in the #NBAPlayoffs after starting the year as an undrafted rookie.

@WorldWideWob Not a bust and not on July 4th, but a few years ago I saw a man walking his dog in my neighborhood in South Carolina wearing a Sam Cassell Suns jersey. Cassell played 22 games for PHX in ‘96 before he was traded. I was stunned. I still think about that sighting to this day.
