Not only is my son autistic, so is my husband! Diagnosed later in life following our sons diagnosis, prior to this we didn’t have any knowledge of autism! Unfortunately for autistic adults there is next to no support - something I’m hoping to change 🙏🏻 #AutismAwarenessDay

I’m not in a good headspace at the moment. I post a lot of positive things about #recovery because there are many! But I shouldn’t hide the downs as recovery isn’t linear. It’s ok to admit when you’re not 100%, open up to someone and #NeverGiveUp 💖

There is still so much stigma and many people lose friends, family, loved ones when they become unwell. Recognise the signs, be kind, be a listening ear, look out for your loved ones, make sure they know you’re there for them. It’s an illness not a choice #MentalHealthAwareness

Today is #SuicidePreventionDay . I’ve sat and thought about the paragraph I could have written but all I really want to say is, check in on your loved ones. We have the power to save a life just by asking “Are you ok?”. As a survivor, I get it, my DM’s are always open to anyone ❤️

5 years ago I was very unwell with an eating disorder. It’s 5 years later and my favourite part of going anywhere is the food I’ll get to experience. #Recovery is a wonderful, wonderful thing (and pizza is life!) 🩷❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜

This time last year I got my dream job for when I qualified. Now 6 months into the role, thrown right into the deep end. Despite some very difficult, stressful, sometimes traumatising situations my confidence and passion has grown massively, I LOVE my job! 🥰 #PennineCarePeople

I’ll always remember sitting in a hospital bed with no hope of any future. Years later I’m nursing others sitting in hospital beds, hopefully giving them hope for their future. Mental illness is lifelong but stability is possible. Never give up #WorldMentalHealthDay 💚

One of the things I’m most proud of in my life is my job... but when my husband tells me “I really am proud of you. I love seeing you come home in your work uniform” it just reminds me that my recovery wasn’t just for me, but those close to me too and that’s what keeps me going🥰

2022 has been the year our non-verbal child said his first consistent word and sentence AND uses them in context! Every time I hear his little voice say “lets go!” or “go!” my heart melts. Nothing beats it 🥰 Bonus points for the fact he sounds more northern than I do 😂 #Autism
