I've just been on the phone to @RaviSinghKA of @Khalsa_Aid . He says there are 300 or so Afghanistanian Sikhs and Hindus sheltering in a Sikh temple about 20 minute from Kabul airport. They have food and water ok, and the Taliban is not mistreating them currently | @GBNEWS

Gangs of “rural wraiths” are using e-scooters to steal from farms. They’re using them as the speedy, silent getaway vehicle. Overall rural crime has dropped by 20% over the pandemic, but thieves are now resorting to different tactics and targets. I’ll have more on @GBNEWS today

Just breathed a sigh of relief. One of my Afghan contacts (a British citizen) said he had to flee his home with his family due to the Taliban. I’ve not been able to get hold of him for days. But the WhatsApp ticks have just gone blue. So I know he’s alive.

The “pingdemic” is creating short term staff shortages, but now businesses are reporting permanent shortages due to EU workers leaving UK hospitality to go back home.. and they are not come back. This restaurant serves the most covers in Hertfordshire. I’ll be on @GBNEWS today
