Today, Hatcher Pass was hit by its first significant snow storm! The road over the summit has been closed for the season - gates are closed at MP 17.5 and MP 20.5 and will not be unlocked until next July, snow dependent.

Anchorage, thank you for your patience! Seward Hwy northbound at the Tudor exist is OPEN. With contractor Hamilton Construction Alaska Co., crews completed work early and opened Sunday afternoon. There's still minor deck work to be completed, but impacts will be minimal.

New Seward Highway TUDOR TO 36th Avenue Update: Crews finished paving at 3:30 a.m. striping around 4 a.m. NB lanes OPEN to all three lanes, SB open to two lanes. We have some additional work in the SB today, but will open up to three lanes as soon as we can. #AlaskaEarthquake

Remember how we said the Taylor was open, but conditions were difficult? Well... it got worse. The Taylor Hwy is now CLOSED at mile 54 due to a washout, and we're watching several other problem spots. Check before you go & always bring emergency supplies.
